Today’s Covid-19 Update for Wednesday August 5, 2020

Roseau County has 47 Positive Cases; with 0 new cases reported today; 5 ACTIVE Cases; 42 having recovered (out of isolation).

The World Health Organization says that a 14-day positive test rate of below 5 percent is the key to keeping businesses open.

Wednesday’s update from the MDH includes 629 new cases of the coronavirus, 12 of which have been removed for an official count of 617. Those positive cases are the result of 11,720 diagnostic tests, creating a daily test positivity rate of 5.26%.   Minnesota’s test positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average, based on MDH data, as of Wednesday, is 4.95%.

“If you go above 5 percent it indicates that you may be heading back into a phase of more rapid spread of the disease,” said MDH Commissioner Jan Malcolm.

Statewide:

  • Tests: 1,090,303 (up from 1,078,695)
  • Positive cases: 57,779 (up from 57,162)
  • Deaths: 1,629 (up from 1,620)
  • Currently hospitalized: 305 (down from 328)
  • Patients in intensive care: 152 (down from 159)
  • Patients no longer requiring isolation: 51,223 (up from 50,426)
