Today’s Covid-19 Update for Tuesday, November 10 2020

11/10/2020

Roseau County has 589 Positive Cases; with 9 new cases reported today; 195 ACTIVE Cases; 394 having recovered (out of isolation) and 1 accumulated death.

Tuesday’s COVID-19 update from the Minnesota Department of Health includes 4,906 more cases, 23 deaths and the continued increase of people hospitalized with the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

The 23 fatal cases brings Minnesota’s death toll from COVID-19 to 2,698. Of those, 1,860 were residents of long-term care facilities, including nine of the 23 deaths reported Tuesday.

The MDH reported 33,981 diagnostic PCR tests and 63 antigen tests for a total of 34,044 completed tests. Those tests were from 14,967 people tested.

People are often tested multiple times, so the more accurate reading for test positivity rate is based on the total number of people tested, which in today’s report is at 32.78%.

The positivity rate reported Tuesday when total cases is divided by total tests, is 14.41%. The World Health Organization recommended in May that a percent positive rate of below 5% for at least two weeks is necessary to safely reopen the economy. That 5% threshold is based on total positives divided by total tests.

Statewide:

  • Total tests: 3,179,872 (up from 3,147,270)
  • People tested: 2,032,318 (up from 2,017,351)
  • Positive cases: 189,681 (up from 184,788)
  • Deaths: 2,698 – 30 of which are “probable*” (up from 2,675)
  • Patients no longer requiring isolation: 153,347 (up from 149,766)
