Today’s Covid-19 Update for Saturday August 15, 2020

Roseau County has 56 Positive Cases; with 1 new cases reported today; 8 ACTIVE Cases; 48 having recovered (out of isolation).

The World Health Organization says that a 14-day positive test rate of below 5 percent is the key to keeping businesses open.

Saturday’s update includes 696 new cases of the coronavirus, six of which have been removed for an official count of 690. Those positive cases are the result of 17,135 diagnostic tests, creating a daily test positivity rate of 4.03%.

Minnesota’s test positivity rate – based on positive results divided by total number of tests – over a 7-day rolling average, based on MDH data, as of Saturday, is 4.37%. Note: Due to reporting delays and changes, the daily testing totals are subject to change. 

“If you go above 5 percent it indicates that you may be heading back into a phase of more rapid spread of the disease,” said MDH Commissioner Jan Malcolm.

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 dropped from 313 Friday to 307 Saturday, including a dip in ICU cases, going from 152 Friday to 140 Saturday.

Statewide:

  • Tests: 1,236,918 (up from 1,219,816)
  • Positive cases: 64,413 (up from 63,723)
  • Deaths: 1,699 (up from 1,693)
  • Currently hospitalized: 307 (down from 313)
  • Patients in intensive care: 140 (down from 152)
  • Patients no longer requiring isolation: 57,457 (up from 56,659)
