ROSEAU’S SOFTBALL SEASON ENDED YESTERDAY AFTER A PLAYOFF DOUBLE HEADER. ROSEAU DID PICK UP A 4-2 WIN OVER CROOKSTON IN A PLAY-IN GAME, AND THEN FELL 9-0 TO TOP SEEDED DILWORTH-GLYNDON-FELTON.

THIRD SEEDED WARROAD PICKED UP A 9-7 VICTORY OVER EAST POLK.

 

IN SECTION 8A SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS, MANY OPENING ROUND GAMES WERE FAIRLY LOPSIDED.

TOP SEEDED BADGER-GREENBUSH-MIDDLE RIVER DISPATCHED OF INDUS 22-0 IN 4 INNINGS.

BLACKDUCK BEAT LAKE OF THE WOODS 16-5.

THE NORTHERN FREEZE ENDED WEST MARSHALL’S SEASON 15-4 IN 4 INNINGS.

BGMR WILL PLAY BLACKDUCK, AND THE FREEZE PLAYS RED LAKE FALLS TOMORROW. BLACKDUCK IS THE PREDETERMINED NEUTRAL SITE FOR THOSE GAMES.

IN SECTION 8AA PLAYOFFS, ROSEAU BEAT BAGLEY 7-2 AT GILBERTSON FIELD TO ADVANCE.

WARROAD BEAT HAWLEY 13-0.

WARROAD WILL PLAY THIEF RIVER TOMORROW, WHILE ROSEAU PLAYS PARK RAPIDS WHO WILL HAVE A HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE OF SORTS… AS PARK RAPIDS IS THE PRE DETERMINED NEUTRAL LOCATION FOR THE PLAYOFFS. WINNERS OF THOSE GAMES WILL ALSO PLAY A SECOND GAME.

 

ROSEAU BOYS GOLF WON A SUBSECTION MEET YESTERDAY IN CROOKSTON, SHOOTING 311, 15 STROKES BETTER THAN HAWLEY. HAMPTON SLUKYNSKY OF WARROAD WAS MEDALIST SHOOTING A 73.

ROSEAU GIRLS GOLF PLACED 5TH AT A SUBSECTION MEET IN BAGLEY.

 

LAST WEEK, RAMS GIRLS HOCKEY COACH STEVE HUGLEN ANNOUNCED HE WILL NOT LEAD THE PROGRAM NEXT YEAR. HUGLEN COACHED THE RAMS FOR 9 SEASONS. STEVE WILL JOIN GREG TONIGHT ON HIS RAMS COACHES SHOW FROM 6-8.

ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE COACH FROM THE REGION IS ALSO RESIGNING… MIKE RANDOLPH, LONG TIME BOYS HOCKEY COACH AT DULUTH EAST ANNOUNCED HE IS STEPPING DOWN.
