A Mass of Christian Burial for Patrick Steer of Roseau, MN will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Badger, MN.  Visitation/ Wake will be on Friday evening from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Interment will be at the St. Dorothy Cemetery near Dorothy, MN.

Patrick H. Steer, 46 yrs 7 mo, of Roseau, MN passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND with his family at his bedside. Patrick was born at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN on November 19, 1972, the son of Henry Jr. and Pauline Steer. He grew up by Dorothy, MN on the family farm until 1987 when he and his family moved to Roseau, MN. Patrick graduated from Roseau High School in 1994. After graduation he worked at the ODC in Roseau for four years. He enjoyed his volunteer job at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN.

 

Patrick enjoyed deer hunting with his dad, fishing (especially “Fishing Has No Boundaries”) in Bemidji, MN each year where he made many new friends. He enjoyed painting and displaying at the craft show & fair because he loved visiting with people and never forgot anyone. He always enjoyed playing board games and doing puzzles with his nieces. He took great pleasure in picking gifts for his nieces and he certainly knew what he wanted. No changing his mind! He worked baby blocks with plastic canvas that he loved to give away when he saw a baby. He enjoyed listening to the Roseau Rams games on the radio and occasionally taking in a game or two. Patrick enjoyed time at the farm in the summer. He always loved being the “Supervisor” or being put in charge!

 

Loving family members include his parents, Butch & Pauline Steer; sister, Penelope & brother-in-law, Jeremy and four nieces Josephine, Allison, Natalie and Katherine Van Dyke of Glyndon, MN. He will also be remembered by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.

 

Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry Sr. & Helen Steer and Leonard & Henriette Audette.
