Marjorie May Keeney, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Warroad Senior Living Center, Warroad, MN.

Funeral services to celebrate Margie’s life will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Union Congregational Church in Warroad, MN. with visitation one hour prior. With Pastor Kyle Krahn officiating. Burial will follow at St., Mary’s Cemetery in Warroad, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Friday.

Marjorie May Keeney was born on May 6, 1925 in Warroad, MN to Harry and Violet (Hunter) Stoskopf. She attended school in Warroad and graduated from High School in 1943.

Margie was united in marriage to James Keeney on September 14, 1948. The resided next door to the home where she grew up on Lake Street and she remained devoted to her mother where the two of them enjoyed entertaining their family and friends.

Margie was a dedicated and dependable employee of the Heritage Drug Store for 65 years. She greeted each customer with a welcoming smile and hope she could entice them with a treat from the Soda Fountain before they left.

She spent much of her free time engrossed in a favorite book or sharing a cup of “hot” coffee with her many wonderful friends.

Margie enjoyed a good vacation but her roots were planted in Warroad where she cheered on the famous Warrior Hockey teams and perched herself in front of her TV for every Minnesota Wild game.

Margie is survived by her brother Jack (Anita) Stoskopf, Eagle River, WI, Brother-in-Law Robert Mattson, Thief River Falls, MN, along with several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James; Mother and Father Harry and Violet, Sisters Germain Blean, Julie Mattson and Beverly Saurdiff, Brother Harry, Brothers-In-Law James Blean, Don Lindberg, Byron Saurdiff; Sister-In-Law Terri Stoskopf.
