THE RED RIVER FARM NETWORK REPORTS SOYBEAN PRODUCTION IN MINNESOTA WAS DOWN TWENTY PERCENT FROM LAST YEAR.

THE AVERAGE YIELD,  AT 44 BUSHELS PER ACRE,  IS DOWN FIVE BUSHELS FROM A YEAR AGO.

CORN PRODUCTION IN MINNESOTA IS ALSO DOWN,  BY SEVEN PERCENT;  AND SUNFLOWER PRODUCTION IS DOWN FIVE PERCENT FROM  2018.

A TAILGATE FUNDRAISER FOR THE WARROAD SCHOOL BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM IS THIS EVENING  (4:30-6 PM)  AT THE GARDENS ARENA,  PRIOR TO THE WARRIORS FOOTBALL GAME WITH FRAZEE.

THE BACKPACK PROGRAM SENDS FOOD HOME EVERY WEEKEND WITH MORE THAN EIGHTY ELEMENTARY STUDENTS IN WARROAD.

 

OCTOBER IS DEPRESSION AWARENESS MONTH.   MENTAL HEALTH CARE ADVOCATES SAY THERE IS LESS STIGMA THAN IN YEARS PAST ABOUT DEPRESSION AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES.

MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR ESTHER NYSTROM OF ROSEAU ARE SATURDAY EVENING AT SEVEN AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.  VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR.

ESTHER NYSTROM WAS  75.

 

THE MINNESOTA PUBLIC FACILITIES AUTHORITY HAS ANNOUNCED MORE THAN NINE MILLION DOLLARS IN LOAN AND GRANT FUNDING FOR FOUR MINNESOTA CITIES,  INCLUDING GREENBUSH.

GREENBUSH WILL GET  676 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN GRANTS AND LOANS FOR WORK ON WATER MAINS,  HYDRANTS AND GATE VALVES IN THE AREA OF OLD HIGHWAY ELEVEN.
