THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  YESTERDAY,  APPROVED HIRING ERIKA BERGSTROM AS A SOCIAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR;  AND APPROVED ADVERTISING TO HIRE SOMEBODY TO FILL HER SOCIAL WORK POSITION.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD WILL RE-OPEN COUNTY BUILDINGS  (INCLUDING THE COURTHOUSE,  SOCIAL SERVICES BUILDING AND HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT STARTING  MARCH  15TH.      THOSE BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY,  DUE TO COVID-19, SINCE NOVEMBER.

 

ROSEAU AND KITTSON COUNTIES ARE SENDING A LETTER TO MINNESOTA’S CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION ASKING FOR MORE THAN THIRTEEN MILLION FEDERAL DOLLARS TO BUILD COUNTY ROAD SEVEN  (IN THE NORTHWEST PART OF ROSEAU COUNTY).   THAT ROAD IS PRONE TO FLOODING, AND IS OFTEN IMPASSABLE.

 

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR EMERSON MICHAL WILL BE HELD THIS FRIDAY AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU, WITH VISITATION FROM 11:00-1:00, WITH A FUNERAL SERVICE AT 1:00 ALSO AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT SPRUCE CEMETERY.

 

THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 REMAINS A PARTICULAR CONCERN IN PENNINGTON COUNTY, WHERE AS OF MONDAY THEY LISTED 54 ACTIVE CASES. IT’S PROMPTED A TESTING EVENT THAT STARTED YESTERDAY AND RUNS THROUGH TOMORROW. THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REFERRED TO THIEF RIVER FALLS AS THE CENTER OF A COVID HOT SPOT, EVEN THOUGH THOSE NUMBERS ARE DOWN ABOUT FIFTY PERCENT FROM A MONTH AGO.

LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCED 6 NEW CASES ON MONDAY, THAT COVERED THE THREE DAY PERIOD FROM THE WEEKEND.

 

AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS WHO HAVE NOT YET ELECTED AND ENROLLED IN THE AGRICULTURE RISK COVERAGE (ARC) OR PRICE LOSS COVERAGE (PLC) PROGRAMS FOR 2021 HAVE UNTIL MARCH 15. THE DEPARTMENT SAID IN A NEWS RELEASE THAT ABOUT 1.4 MILLION FARMS HAVE SO FAR ENROLLED, ABOUT 81% OF EXPECTED PARTICIPATION.

 

THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE IS PROVIDING REIMBURSEMENTS FOR PRODUCE FARMERS WHO CONDUCTED WATER TESTING FOR E. COLI OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS. FARMERS HAVE UNTIL MARCH 19TH TO FILE FOR REIMBURSEMENT, WHICH WILL COVER UP TO FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS IN TESTING EXPENSES. THE FARMER MUST HAVE SOLD A MINIMUM OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN PRODUCE TO QUALIFY.
