THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD HAS AUTHORIZED ADVERTISING FOR POTENTIAL APPOINTMENTS TO THE WARROAD RIVER WATERSHED BOARD. THE TERMS OF JEFF O’DONNELL AND BRIAN SCHAIBLE EXPIRE THIS YEAR.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD HAS ACCEPTED A FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR DONATION FROM THE WARROAD V.F.W. POST TO THE COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE OFFICER. MARTY HOWES SAYS THE MONEY IS USED TO HELP LOCAL VETERANS.

ROSEAU COUNTY HAS PURCHASED A USED TRAILER FROM BYFUGLIEN TRUCKING FOR SANDBAG STORAGE. THOSE SANDBAGS HAD BEEN STORED IN THE BEITO BUILDING ADJACENT TO THE COURTHOUSE. THAT BUILDING WILL BE TORN DOWN THIS MONTH.

A MOVIE NIGHT AT THE ROSEAU THEATRE NEXT TUESDAY WILL SERVE AS A FUNDRAISER FOR RELAY FOR LIFE OF ROSEAU COUNTY. THEY’LL SHOW THE MOVIE “DATE NIGHT” STARTING AT 7 P.M. IT’S A FREE WILL DONATION AT THE DOOR. THEY’LL HAVE A NUMBER OF RAFFLES, LUMINARY BAGS AVAILABLE, AND CONCESSIONS WILL BE OPEN.

 

THREE YOUNG MEN ARE STILL DEALING WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AFTER LAST WEEK’S HEAD-ON CRASH THAT HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 220 JUST NORTH OF EAST GRAND FORKS. 20-YEAR OLD VALENTIN MENDOZA’S VEHICLE HAD CROSSED THE CENTER LINE AND STRUCK A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 17-YEAR OLD ETHAN CARSEN, WHO HAD A 16-YEAR OLD PASSENGER DAMIAN POWELL. ACCORDING TO CARSEN’S MOM, HE IS RESPONDING TO HIS SURROUNDINGS BUT IS STILL SUFFERING FROM SEIZURES, WHILE AN ONLINE POSTING FROM POWELL’S FATHER SAID HE IS “STILL FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE”. IT’S UNCLEAR IF ANYONE WILL FACE CHARGES.
