ROSEAU COUNTY HAS DISTRIBUTED THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS TO  EIGHTY-SEVEN BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS,  USING STATE DOLLARS APPROVED BY THE LEGISLATURE LAST DECEMBER.

THAT MONEY WAS PRIORITIZED  ENTITIES AFFECTED BY EXECUTIVE ORDER COVID-RELATED  CLOSURES OVER THE PAST ELEVEN MONTHS.

THERE WERE  133 APPLICATIONS,  ASKING FOR ABOUT  TWO-POINT-ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

EACH OF THE APPROVED APPLICANTS GETS BETWEEN  1750   AND 5000 DOLLARS.

 

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR JESSIE KNUTSON OF ROSEAU,  FOLLOWING MINNESOTA COVID-19 GUIDELINES,  IS THIS MORNING AT ELEVEN  AT ROSE FREE LUTHERAN CHURCH,  WEST OF ROSEAU.   BURIAL WILL BE AT A LATER DATE AT GREENWOOD CEMETERY IN THIEF RIVER FALLS.

THE BADGER SCHOOL HAD SIX STUDENTS AND TWO STAFF MEMBERS OUT OF THEIR BUILDING MONDAY.

WARROAD HAS THREE COVID-POSITIVE STAFF MEMBERS, AND THREE COVID POSITIVE STUDENTS,  AND 31 STUDENTS IN QUARANTINE.

 

NORTHWEST ANGLE BUSINESSES HAVE STRUGGLED THROUGH THE PANDEMIC WITH THE CANADIAN BORDER CLOSED TO NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL SINCE LAST MARCH.

JOE HENRY,  WITH LAKE OF THE WOODS TOURISM,  SAYS THE CREATION OF A FORTY MILE ICE ROAD EARLIER THIS WINTER HELPED.

NORTHWESTERN MINNESOTA IS WORKING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND LAUNCH MINNESOTA TO HELP BUSINESS PARTNERS AND STARTUPS IN THE REGION.

WARROAD’S DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT HUB CELEBRATES IT’S FOURTH ANNIVERSARY NEXT WEEK.

THE HUB WAS STARTED TO PROVIDE  A RESOURCE FOR BOTH STARTUPS AND EXISTING BUSINESSES.
