KANDIYOHI, COTTONWOOD AND ROSEAU COUNTIES WERE THE TOP THREE IN MINNESOTA OVER THE PAST WEEK FOR THE RATE OF CORONAVIRUS SPREAD PER CAPITA.
ROSEAU COUNTY HAS AVERAGED ABOUT 171 NEW COVID CASES PER WEEK SINCE EARLY OCTOBER, WITH A PEAK WEEK IN LATE NOVEMBER OF 276 CASES.
LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER IN ROSEAU IS SEEING SOME OF THOSE COVID PATIENTS, AND THAT’S CAUSING CONCERN FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, THIS WEEK, APPROVED THE PRICE OF LOTS AT OAK CREST ESTATES – WHERE THE CITY IS ADDING INFRASTRUCTURE TO CREATE BUILDING LOTS.
A CITY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED A TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLAR UPFRONT COST PER LOT, PLUS A TWENTY YEAR UTILITY ASSESSMENT, WITH A REBATE AFTER THE HOUSE IS BUILT – FOR A TOTAL COST PER LOT OF ABOUT TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS.
THE ACTUAL COST PER LOT FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IS JUST UNDER FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, LAST WEEK, RENEWED A CONTRACT WITH THE RINKE/NOONAN LAW FIRM. THAT ST CLOUD-BASED FIRM IS ON RETAINER AS THE COUNTY’S DITCH LAW AUTHORITY.

 

PRESCHOOL CLASSES RESUMED AT THE BADGER SCHOOL THIS WEEK, AFTER A COVID CLOSURE.

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL CONTINUES IN IT’S CURRENT LEARNING PROTOCOL.

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD MET IN SPECIAL SESSION MONDAY MORNING AND APPROVED TAX INCREMENT FINANCING AND A TAX ABATEMENT FOR A PLANNED APARTMENT PROJECT IN THE CITY OF ROSEAU.

 

MATTHEW AND MIRANDA GREEN OF GREENBUSH WILL REPRESENT ROSEAU COUNTY OVER THE NEXT SIX MONTHS IN THE EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM;
AND MATT AND JACKIE PRZEKWAS OF LANCASTER WILL REPRESENT KITTSON COUNTY.
UNIVERSITY of MINNESOTA EXTENSION EDUCATOR JODY HORNTVEDT, IN BAUDETTE, SAYS THE PANDEMIC HAS ALTERED THAT PROGRAM.
