THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  ACCEPTED  A TWO-YEAR,    140 THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT FROM THE OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS;

FOR WORK WITHIN THE COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE.

 

THE STATE OF MINNESOTA ADDED MORE THAN ELEVEN HUNDRED JOBS IN AUGUST AND THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE FELL TO  THREE-POINT-THREE PERCENT.

STEVE GROVE,  THE COMMISSIONER OF THE STATE  DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT,  SAYS  “THE LACK OF AVAILABLE WORKERS CONTINUES TO POSE CHALLENGES FOR EMPLOYERS”.

LUKE GREINER IS A REGIONAL LABOR FORCE ANALYST FOR  “DEED”;  HE SAYS LOCAL BUSINESSES HAVE TO HELP SOLVE THE WORKFORCE SHORTAGE.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL,  LAST MONTH,  ACCEPTED THE RESIGNATION OF FIRST ROBOTICS ADVISOR ANDY LUNDBOHM.

THE DISTRICT WILL NEED A REPLACEMENT BY JANUARY.

 

A PANCAKE BREAKFAST BENEFIT FOR KRIS JENSON OF BADGER,  TO HELP DEFRAY MEDICAL EXPENSES,  IS SUNDAY  (9:30-1)  AT THE GREENBUSH COMMUNITY CENTER.

IT’S SPONSORED BY THE GREENBUSH/BADGER LIONS CLUB.

 

A ROSEAU EAGLES AUXILIARY FALL SOUP AND SALAD LUNCH IS THURSDAY   (11-1)  AT THE ROSEAU  V.F.W. CLUB.

PROCEEDS GO TO THE ROSEAU DIABETES CENTER.

 

 

THE ROSEAU ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE’S  NORTH/STREAM FIBER PROJECT IS UNDERWAY,

AS THE CO-OP  CONTINUES A BROADBAND BUILDOUT ACROSS IT’S SERVICE AREA.

ASSISTANT MANAGER RYAN SEVERSON SAYS THE COOPERATIVE PLANS TO SERVE HUNDREDS OF HOMES WITH HIGH SPEED INTERNET.

 

THE KIDS COUNTY DATA BOOK SAYS MINNESOTA IS FOURTH AMONG STATES FOR OVERALL CHILD WELL-BEING,  WHICH MEASURES THINGS LIKE HEALTH,  EDUCATION,  ECONOMIC WELL-BEING  AND  FAMILY AND COMMUNITY.

LESLIE BOISSIERE,  FROM THE ANNIE  E.  CASEY FOUNDATION,  SAYS THE  2020 CENSUS IS CRITICAL  AS FUNDING FOR PROGRAMS LIKE HEAD START IS BASED ON ACCURATE NUMBERS.

BOISSIERE SAYS THE 2010 CENSUS MISSED MORE THAN TWO MILLION KIDS UNDER AGE FIVE IN AMERICA.

 

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR ROBERT DAVY OF BADGER ARE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT TWO  AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.   VISITATION IS THURSDAY EVENING  (5-7 PM)  AT HELGESON’S.

ROBERT DAVY  WAS  76.
