THE ROSEAU CIVIC & COMMERCE IS BACK AGAIN WITH IT’S HOLIDAY FANTASY DRAWINGS WHERE YOU COULD BE REWARDED FOR SHOPPING LOCALLY. EVERY THURSDAY IN DECEMBER THEY’LL HOLD DRAWINGS FOR A TOTAL OF $400 IN ROSEAU DOUGH, ALONG WITH MULTIPLE GIFT CARDS.

WARROAD NATIVE DAVE CHRISTIAN PARTICIPATED IN THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA’S “ONE MORE SHIFT” PREGAME CEREMONIES ON SATURDAY. HE SUITED UP TO SKATE WITH THE FIGHTING HAWKS, AND PROVIDED THE GOOD LUCK JUST AS FORMER GREATS HAVE DONE AS UND SCORED JUST THREE MINUTES INTO THE GAME. THE NIGHTS OF LIGHTS EVENT AT THE ROSEAU CITY PARK WILL OFFER A “SOFT OPENING” ON FRIDAY FROM THE HOURS OF 5-7 PM, WITH THE FULL OPENING STILL SLATED FOR NEXT WEEKEND. THAT IS A DRIVE THROUGH HOLIDAY LIGHTING EVENT.

CONSERVATION OFFICER BEN HEUNER CAME ACROSS A FIRST IN HIS 13 YEARS WITH THE DNR, TWO BUCKS WITH THEIR ANTLERS ENTANGLED WHILE COMPETING FOR A MATE. HE GOT THE CALL TO THE LOCATION SOUTH OF BADGER. ONE DEER WAS IN BAD SHAPE AND WAS EUTHANIZED, AND THE OTHER DEER WAS ABLE TO FREE ITSELF WITH HELP FROM HEUNER AND THE LANDOWNERS. THE DEAD DEER WAS KEPT BY THE LANDOWNERS TO SALVAGE ANY MEAT. LAST WEEK, A BALD EAGLE WAS ALSO CAPTURED AND SENT FOR REHAB.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR PATRICIA “PATSY” RITA (VON ENDE) HUNTER OF WARROAD WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (2 PM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. PATRICIA WAS 80 YEARS OLD.

PRESIDENT BIDEN IS VISITING MINNESOTA TODAY, WITH A STOP IN ROSEMOUNT WHERE HE WILL DISCUSS THE INFRASATRUCTURE BILL AND THE ROUGHLY $6.8 BILLION IMPACT IT WILL HAVE ON THE STATE.
