THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL APPROVED INCREASING THE ANNUAL RETIREMENT PENSION FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS FROM TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YEAR TO TWENTY-TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS.

 

THE CITY OF ROSEAU WILLL WORK WITH THE ROSEAU RIVER WATERSHED DISTRICT AS THE CONTRACTOR FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A KAYAK LAUNCH ON THE ROSEUA RIVER, JUST SOUTH OF THE CITY CENTER.

 

LIFECARE PUBLIC HEALTH IS REPORTING THIRTY-SIX NEW CONFIMRED CASES OF COVID-19 IN THE PAST WEEK. THAT’S THE HIGHEST WEKLY NUMBER SINCE MID-FEBRUARY. LIFECARE ADMINISTERED 505 COVID TESTS LAST WEEK, AND 402 THE WEEK PRIOR; AFTER TESTING HAD BEEN ONLY THE IN THE TWO HUDNNRED FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS.

LIFECARE PUBLIC HEALTH HAS NOW GIVEN OVER SEVEN THOUSAND COVID VACCINATIONS SINCE LATE DECEMBER, WITH OVER 3200 OF THOSE BEING SECOND DOSES.

 

THERE WERE FOUR BIDS FOR AN APPROXIMATE SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR WATER TOWER PROJECT. THE LOW BID WAS 255 THOUSAND DOLLARS UNDER THE ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE. THE CITY OF ROSEAU PLANS TO USE FEDERAL AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN DOLLARS TO PAY FOR THE PROJECT.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR MARY MATTSON AND JON JOHNSON, BOTH OF ROSEAU, WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (2 PM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.
