SENATOR AMY KLOBUCHAR HAS SENT A LETTER TO KIRSTEN HILLMAN, AMBASSADOR OF CANADA TO THE U.S. THAT ONCE AGAIN ADDRESSES THE PERSONAL AND ECONOMIC DIFFICULTIES FOR THOSE A THE NORTHWEST ANGLE DUE TO THE BORDER CLOSURE. SHE SAYS IT IS VITAL THAT U.S. RESIDENTS OF THE NORTHWEST ANGLE ARE ABLE TO TRAVEL FREELY BETWEEN THE ANGLE AND U.S. MAINLAND.

 

REPRESENTATIVES JOHN BURKEL OF BADGER, AND DEB KIEL OF CROOKSTON SENT A LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR URGING HIM TO ALLOW ALL GRADUATION CEREMONIES TO BE TREATED EQUALLY. AS IT STANDS, INDOOR CAPACITY LIMITS WILL INCREASE ON MAY 28TH. ANY GRADUATION HAPPENING BEFORE THAT DATE, WHETHER IT BE 7 DAYS OR 1 DAY, WILL MISS OUT ON THE FULLY OPPORTUNITY FOR GRADUATES AND THEIR FAMILIES TO PROPERLY MARK THE OCCASION. SO FAR, THAT REQUEST HAS BEEN REFUSED.

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR EDNA FINLEY OF ROSEAU WILL BE HELD THIS AFTERNOON (1 PM) AT NORTHWOOD CHURCH IN GRYGLA, WITH VISITATION ONE HOUR PRIOR. INTERMENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT NORTHWOOD CEMETERY IN GRYGLA. EDNA FINLEY WAS 95.

 

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR NELLIE WALLESTAD SEALY, FORMERLY OF ROSEAU, WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (10 AM) AT THE ROSEAU FREE LUTHERAN CHURCH. NELLIE WAS 74.

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR FREDRICK “MIKE” YAGER OF BADGER WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (10:30 AM) AT ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH IN BADGER. VISITATION WILL BE HELD FROM 5:00-7:00 WITH A SERVICE AT 7:00 AT ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH IN BADGER. INTERMENT TO TAKE PLACE  AT ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CEMETERY IN BADGER. MIKE YAGER WAS 73.

 

IN YESTERDAY’S NEWS IT WAS STATED THAT TARGET STORES WERE STICKING WITH THEIR MASKING POLICIES FOR EMPLOYEES AND GUESTS, BUT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON COMPANY LEADERS ANNOUNCED THAT TARGET WILL NO LONGER REQUIRE MASKS FOR EMPLOYEES AND SHOPPERS THAT ARE FULLY VACCINATED… FOLLOWING OTHER MAJOR RETAILERS SUCH AS WALMART, STARBUCKS, COSTCO AND MANY OTHERS.

 

ANOTHER REGIONAL EVENT THAT WILL BE MAKING A COMEBACK IN 2021 IS THE OXCART DAYS CELEBRATION IN CROOKSTON, AUGUST 16-22, WITH THE SLOGAN OF “BRINGING BACK FUN IN ‘21”.
