DOCTOR COURTNEY WHEELER,  A SENIOR VETERINARIAN WITH THE MINNESOTA BOARD OF ANIMAL HEALTH,  SAYS THE BABY FOX WAS FOUND LAST WEEK AND APPARENTLY BIT ONE OF THOSE SIX PEOPLE.

THIS WAS THE FIRST RABIES-POSITIVE FOX IN MINNESOTA THIS YEAR;  THERE HAVE BEEN BATS AND SKUNKS DETERMINED RABIES-POSITIVE IN THE STATE IN 2019.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  APPROVED THE HIRES OF SOCIAL WORKER MADISON HAHN;  AND FAMILY-BASED WORKER CRYSTAL MARQUEZ FOR THE SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT.

 

THE RED RIVER FARM NETWORK SAYS THE CURRENT FARM ECONOMY HAS SOFTENED THE LAND MARKET.

RANDY DICKHUT FROM FARMERS NATIONAL COMPANY SAYS BUYERS ARE BEING MORE CAUTIOUS;  BUT HE ALSO SAYS THERE  IS  “STILL STRONG DEMAND FOR GOOD QUALITY FARMLAND”.

 

A ROSEAU BLOOD DRIVE IS THIS AFTERNOON  (12:30 – 6 PM)  AND TOMORROW  ( 8 – 1:30 )  AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER.

 

A MINNESOTA D.N.R. GRANT HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR A KAYAK LAUNCH AND FISHING PIER ON THE ROSEAU RIVER,  JUST BELOW THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER.

A MEMORIAL VISITATION FOR DENNIS BACHAND OF WARROAD IS THURSDAY AFTERNOON  (4-6 PM)  AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN WARROAD.

DENNIS BACHAND WAS  74.

 

A CELEBRATION  OF LIFE FOR LYLE SPICER OF VASSAR,  MANITOBA IS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT TWO AT THE VASSAR HALL.

LYLE SPICER WAS  80.

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR AL BUFFUM OF ROSEAU IS SATURDAY MORNING AT ELEVEN AT HELGESON FUNERAL CHAPEL IN ROSEAU.  VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD,  LAST NIGHT,  HEARD THAT THE DISTRICT HAS SPENT 76 THOUSAND DOLLARS SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER FOR PRE-REFERENDUM CONSULTING SERVICES  WITH THE NUMBER TEN ARCHITECTURAL FIRM  (OF WINNIPEG).

A RE-FORMED SCHOOL FACILITIES TASK FORCE WILL CONSIDER RFP’S WITH OTHER ARCHITECTS PRIOR TO A PLANNED MAY  2020  REFERENDUM.
