A MAN WHO ESCAPED FROM THE MINIMUM SECURITY AREA OF KOOCHICHING COUNTY JAIL IN INTERNATIONAL FALLS LAST SPRING IS NOW CHARGED IN A FATAL SHOOTING IN PORTLAND, OREGON. REPORTS SAY 21-YEAR OLD HUNTER LEWIS IS FACING SECOND-DEGREE MURDER CHARGES AFTER THE SHOOTING AT A HOMELESS CAMP IN AUGUST. MINNESOTA AUTHORITIES ISSUED A WARRANT FOR HIS ARREST IN APRIL.

Gov. Tim Walz says coronavirus cases due to the fast-spreading omicron variant will most likely race through Minnesota’s public schools in the next few weeks now that students are back in class.
