THE ROSEAU SCHOOL WILL HOST A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR PHASE 1 PORTION OF THE ROSEAU SCHOOL PROJECT TOMORROW MORNING AT 11:30. THERE WILL BE AN OPEN HOUSE TO FOLLOW AND TOURS OF COMPLETED PORTION WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE EVENT IS OPEN TO ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND.

 

GUARDIAN FLIGHT, WHO PROVIDES AIR MEDICAL SERVICES IN THE AREA, DEBUTED A NEW LARGER, FASTER AIRCRAFT AT IT’S ROSEAU LOCATION. THE NEW AIRCRAFT IS CAPABLE OF CARRYING A THIRD PERSON SUCH AS A SPOUSE OR PARENT AS CONDITIONS ALLOW.

 

SENTENCING FOR THE FORMER HEAD OF NURSING AT LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER, NATHAN BROVOLD, HAS BEEN DELAYED UNTIL AUGUST 31ST. HE’S ACCUSED OF STRANGLING A WOMAN AND THREATENING TO SHOOT HER DURING AN ALTERCATION EARLIER THIS YEAR. HE FACES UP TO 27 YEARS.

 

A PANCAKE BREAKFAST AT ROSEAU’S PIONEER FARM THIS SATURDAY FROM 7:00-11:00 WILL SERVE AS A FUNDRAISER FOR THAT FACILITY. IT’S A FREEWILL OFFERING EVENT.

GOVERNOR TIM WALZ SAID YESTERDAY THAT JUST SHY OF 80,000 MINNESOTANS APPLIED TO RECEIEVE THE $100 INCENTIVE FOR GETTING THE COVID-19 VACCINE SINCE JULY 30. MINNESOTA SAW THE SEVEN-DAY AVERAGE FOR FIRST DOSE ADMINISTRATION INCREASE OF 2675 TO 4955 OVER THAT SPAN.

FOR THOSE RECEIVING ENHANCED UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS THROUGH THE PANDEMIC EMERGENCY UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION OR PANDEMIC UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE, THE FINAL WEEK THAT THEY WILL RECEIVE THE ADDITIONAL $300 PER WEEK IS THE WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 4TH. A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR JOAN MOREY OF WANNASKA WILL BE HELD THIS FRIDAY (11 AM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE THURSDAY (5-7), ALSO AT HELGESON’S, WITH A 7:00 PRAYER SERVICE. INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT SALEM CEMETERY.

THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY IS HOSTING AN END OF SUMMER BREAK ICE CREAM SOCIAL FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES TOMORROW AFTERNOON FROM 2:00-4:00.

 

THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA WILL REQUIRE STUDENTS TO GET VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19. STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CONFIRM THEIR VACCINATION STATUS. THE MANDATE IS EFFECTIVE FOR CAMPUSES IN THE TWIN CITIES, CROOKSTON, DULUTH, MORRIS AND ROCHESTER.
