KITTSON COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR ERIC CHRISTENSEN HAS BEEN OFFERED A JOB AS DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL OPERATIONS IN STORY COUNTY IOWA.

CHRISTENSEN WAS ONE OF THREE FINALISTS  (FROM AMONG THIRTY APPLICANTS)  FOR THAT VACANT POSITION.

 

ECFE WILL HOST THEIR ANNUAL MEGA TRUCK NIGHT IN THE PARKING LOT OF ROSEAU ELECTIC ON SEPTEMBER 24TH (5:30-6:30). THAT EVENT WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE.

 

SAFE KIDS GRAND FORKS AND LIFECARE PUBLIC HEALTH WILL HAVE A FREE CAR SEAT CHECKUP FROM 4-7 ON SEPTEMBER 24TH. THAT’S IN THE EAST GARAGE AT ROSEAU ELECTIC. STUDIES SHOW THAT 4 OUT OF CAR SEAT ARE USED INCORRECTLY. CALL 463-3211 FOR AN APPOINTMENT.

 

BOTH ROSEAU AND B-G-MR WILL HOST TAILGATE PARTIES PRIOR TO TOMORROW EVENINGS FOOTBALL GAMES. THEY BOTH BEGIN AT 5:30. ROSEAU HAS A CHILI BAR WITH BAKED POTATOES, B-G-MR IS DOING PULLED PORK SANDWICHES.

 

A 2ND ANNUAL OCTOBER FESTIVAL IS SET FOR OCTOBER 4TH AND 5TH IN WARROAD AT ALLISON PARK.

 

MINNESOTA’S BUSIEST STATE PARK HAS REOPENED AFTER HISTORIC FLOODING. FORT SNELLING STATE PARK HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR SIX MONTHS AFTER PERSISTENT SPRING FLOODING CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND FORCED IT’S CLOSURE IN MARCH.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD,  THIS WEEK,  HEARD FROM A GROUP OF CONCERNED PARENTS WHO LIVE FOUR AND FIVE MILES WEST OF ROSEAU;  AND WHOSE KIDS ARE PICKED UP AT  6:40 A.M.

THOSE PARENTS SUGGESTED ADDING A BUS ROUTE TO ALLOW A LATER PICKUP TIME.

SUPERINTENDENT TOM JEROME SAID HE  “CAN’T GUARANTEE AN AGREEABLE SOLUTION”.

BUSSES MUST BE AT SCHOOL BY EIGHT A.M. FOR KIDS HAVING BREAKFAST.

 

LIFECARE’S  HEALTH 4 LIFE PRESENTS MARK SCHARENBROICH  (share-un-brock)  THIS EVENING  (Five & Seven PM)  AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL THEATRE,  IN A FREE ANNUAL WELLNESS SPEAKING EVENT.

 

THE DUCK AND GOOSE HUNTING SEASON OPENS SATURDAY IN MINNESOTA.

THE MINNESOTA  D.N.R.  SAYS BIRD NUMBERS AND HUNTERS SUCCESS  ARE EXPECTED TO BE BETTER AT THE THIEF LAKE W.M.A. THAN AT THE ROSEAU RIVER  W.M.A.

 

THE ROSEAU FIREMEN’S ANNUAL FUNDRAISER BARBEQUE AND BALL IS SATURDAY EVENING.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL,  LAST WEEK,  HEARD THAT MINNESOTA ENERGY RESOURCES IS AUTOMATING IT’S GAS METERS;  THAT WOULD BE SIMILAR TO THE CITY’S ELECTRIC AND WATER METER CONVERSION.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  APPROVED A FORTY-FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR PROPOSAL FOR A COURTHOUSE AND SOCIAL SERVICES SECURITY ASSESSMENT.

 

A USED BOOK SALE, TO RAISE MONEY FOR EAST BORDERLAND HOUSING IN SPRAGUE, MANITOBA IS TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY AT CLEARSPRING MALL IN STEINBACH, MANITOBA.

 

A GENEALOGY 101 CLASS IS THIS EVENING  (7 PM)  AT THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY.

 

A ‘WIC’ CLINIC IS TODAY AT LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER IN ROSEAU.
