THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, THIS WEEK, APPOINTED COMMISSIONERS JOHN HORNER AND JACK SWANSON TO A ROSEAU COUNTY 125TH ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE. THE COUNTY CELEBRATES 125 YEARS IN 2020.

THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED THE HIRE OF NICOLE HINSON AS A SOCIAL WORKER; SHE HAD BEEN WORKIN GIN THE SOCIAL SERVICES INCOME MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT.

 

GUEST SPEAKER MARK SCHARENBROICH WILL BE AT THE ROSEAU THEATER ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH AT BOTH 5:00 AND 7:00, PRESENTED BY LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER. THAT IS FREE AND OPEN TO ALL.

 

THE ANNUAL ROSEAU VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS BARBECUE AND BALL IS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST. DINNER IS SERVED AT THE FIREHALL, WITH THE RECEPTION AT THE ROSEAU AMERICAN LEGION.

A WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE CONTINUES THROUGH THE END OF THE MONTH  AT ROSEAU’S FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC CENTER,  POLARIS, TRANSFERS UNLIMITED,  THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY AND CITIZENS STATE BANK.

 

THE ROSEAU/ LAKE OF THE WOODS SPORTSMANS CLUB HAS THEIR 13TH ANNUAL  A-T-V  FUN RUN SATURDAY AT CARP’S PIT RECREATION AREA AT BELTRAMI ISLAND STATE FOREST.

 

ROSEAU COUNTY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTIONS ARE THIS AFTERNOON  (1-4 PM)  AT THE ROSEAU COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT;

AND TOMORROW MORNING  (Ten to Noon)  AT THE BADGER COUNTY SHOP;  AND TOMORROW AFTERNOON  (2-4 PM)  AT THE GREENBUSH CITY/COUNTY SHOP.

 

THE MINNESOTA  D.N.R.  IS TAKING PUBLIC COMMENT ON A PROPOSAL TO ADD THE ROSEAU TO WARROAD ABANDONED RAILBED TO THE STATE GRANT-IN-AID A-T-V  TRAIL SYSTEM.

 

 

CLASSMATES OF A TEENAGER RECENTLY KILLED IN A CAR CRASH IN NORTHWESTERN MINNESOTA HAVE HONORED HER MEMORY IN A SPECIAL WAY.

 

ALIVIA MORTENSEN WAS POSTHUMOUSLY CROWED HOMECOMING QUEEN AT ULEN-HITTERDAHL HIGH SCHOOL THIS WEEK.

 

THE 17-YEAR-OLD STANDOUT ATHLETE AND HONOR STUDENT DIED IN A CRASH IN CLAY COUNTY JUNE 2, JUST DAYS AFTER FINISHING HER JUNIOR YEAR.

 

MEMBERS OF HER FAMILY ATTENDED MONDAY NIGHT’S CORONATION AND ACCEPTED THE CROWN IN ALIVIA’S HONOR.

 

 

 

A TENTH ANNUAL WALK TO REMEMBER,  WHICH RAISES MONEY FOR ALZHEIMER’S RESEARCH  (AND FOR LOCAL PEOPLE WITH ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE)  IS SATURDAY AT THE WARROAD SENIOR LIVING CENTER.
