THE 2019 KIDS COUNT DATA BOOK SAYS IT’S ESSENTIAL THAT ALL MINNESOTA KIDS ARE COUNTED IN THE 2020 CENSUS. ABOUT SEVEN THOUSAND WERE MISSED IN THE 2010 CENSUS. BHARTI WAHI, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR CHILDREN’S DEFENSE FUND/ MINNESOTA, SAYS AN UNDERCOUNT HAS A LARGE IMPACT ON HOW PUBLIC SYSTEMS ARE FUNDED.

 

A 78 YEAR OLD FOSSTON WOMAN WAS KILLED IN A TWO-VEHICLE CRASH YESTERDAY MORNING (JUST AFTER ELEVEN A.M.) ON HIGHWAY 59 IN MAHNOMEN COUNTY.
THE WOMAN WAS NORTHBOUND, LOST CONTROL AND SPUN INTO THE SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC LANE;
STRIKING A MINIVAN DRIVEN BY 63 YEAR OLD TISA STEINMAN JONES OF UNDERWOOD.
STEINMAN JONES AND A PASSENGER, 63 YEAR OLD CURTIS JONES OF UNDERWOOD, WERE TAKEN TO HOSPITALS IN MAHNOMEN AND FARGO.
THE NAME OF THE DECEASED HASN’T BEEN RELEASED, PENDING NOTIFICATION OF RELATIVES.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL DISTRICT AND IT’S TEACHERS ASSOCIATION HAVE APPARENTLY REACHED A TENTATIVE TWO YEAR CONTRACT AGREEMENT, ALTHOUGH DETAILS WON’T BE RELEASED BEFORE SCHOOL BOARD APPROVAL.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR ELDOR LORENSON OF GREENBUSH (AND FORMERLY OF STRATHCONA) ARE TOMORROW MORNING AT TEN AT GRACE EVANGELICAL CHURCH OF STRATHCONA. VISITATION IS THIS EVENING AFTER 5:30, WITH A 6:30 PRAYER SERVICE, AT THE CHURCH.

ROSEAU COUNTY HAD A BILLION DOLLARS IN REAL GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT LAST YEAR; THAT’S THE SAME AS PENNINGTON COUNTY.
MARSHALL COUNTY WAS AT 374 MILLION; KITTSON AT 288 MILLION; AND LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY AT 185 MILLION DOLLARS.
G-D-P IS THE VALUE OF GOODS AND SERVICES PRODUCED BY A COUNTY’S ECONOMY IN A GIVEN YEAR, AND REFLECTS THE VIBRANCE OF A COUNTY ECONOMY.

 

THE RED RIVER FARM NETWORK SAYS 2019 WAS A GOOD YEAR FOR COOL SEASON GRASSES, BUT NOT A GOOD YEAR FOR HAY PRODUCTION. THE FARM NETWORK REPORTS HAY TONNAGE WAS HIGH, BUT QUALITY WAS LOW.

 

THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA MEN’S HOCKEY TEAM COMES BACK FROM A CHRISTMAS BREAK, WITH A GAME AGAINST THE U.S. UNDER EIGHTEEN TEAM SATURDAY AT PLYMOUTH, MICHIGAN.
