ROSEAU KINDERGARTEN THROUGH THIRD GRADERS HAVE THEIR WINTER MUSIC PROGRAM TODAY  (Ten and Two)  AT THE SCHOOL THEATRE.

4TH,  5TH AND 6TH GRADERS PRESENT THEIR PROGRAM NEXT THURSDAY.

DIRECTORS ARE BONNIE DEHLIN WENSLOFF AND ROBB JOHNSON.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL HEARD LAST WEEK THAT CLEANUP OF GRAFFITI  SPRAY-PAINTED AT CITY PARKS IS ONGOING;  THAT THE BUILDINGS WILL BE RE-PAINTED NEXT SPRING.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  APPROVED RENEWAL OF LAND SURVEYING  CONTRACT, WITH GEORGE COLOUMBE.

 

THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE SAYS MINNESOTA PRODUCED ABOUT FORTY-TWO MILLION TURKEYS IN 2018;  THAT’S  SEVENTEEN PERCENT OF THE TURKEYS RAISED IN THE UNITED STATES.

MINNESOTA,  NORTH CAROLINA AND ARKANSAS ARE THE TOP THREE TURKEY PRODUCING STATES IN THE NATION.

 

THE PRELIMINARY DAMAGE ASSESSMENT ACROSS ROSEAU COUNTY FROM EXCESSIVE RAINFALL FROM LATE SEPTEMBER THROUGH MID-OCTOBER IS NOW LISTED AT  MORE THAN  ONE-POINT-ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

MOST OF THAT TOTAL,  833 THOUSAND DOLLARS,  IS FOR DAMAGE TO ROSEAU COUNTY INFRASTRUCTURE.

THE HIGHEST DAMAGE ESTIMATE FROM THE TOWNSHIPS WAS  149 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN JADIS TOWNSHIP.

 

LIFECARE PUBLIC HEALTH HAS A FLU VACCINE CLINIC THIS AFTERNOON          (3:30-5:30 PM)  AT THE GREENBUSH SCHOOL LIBRARY.

 

THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ARCHERY CLUB HAS A GROWING YOUTH ARCHERY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

BOB MOSER SAYS TRAINED INSTRUCTORS TAUGHT MORE THAN A HUNDRED KIDS OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS.

 

ROSEAU FIRE CHIEF CRAIG  McMILLIN  SAYS HIS DEPARTMENT IS CLOSE TO HAVING NEW MAPPING HARDWARE IN THEIR RIGS,  USING ROSEAU COUNTY’S   G-I-S MAPPING SOFTWARE.

ROSEAU COUNTY APPROVED THE PURCHASE OF LAPTOPS FOR  FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND AMBULANCE SERVICES IN THE COUNTY TO IMPROVE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TIME.

 

ENROLLMENT IN THE ROSEAU SCHOOL DISTRICT WAS  1183 STUDENTS IN MID-NOVEMBER.

THE LARGEST CLASS IS THE 7TH GRADE,  AT  107 STUDENTS;  THE SMALLEST CLASS IS  12TH GRADE,  WITH  75 STUDENTS.

THERE ARE ABOUT ONE HUNDRED KIDS IN ROSEAU’S  PRESCHOOL PROGRAM.

 

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR AUSTIN DEJNO OF DRAYTON, NORTH DAKOTA  (AND FORMERLY OF WARROAD)  IS TOMORROW MORNING AT ELEVEN AT ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH IN WARROAD.   VISITATION IS THIS EVENING (5-7 PM)  AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN WARROAD.

OPEN SIGNUP FOR THE CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM STARTED,  WITH AN EARLY FEBRUARY DEADLINE FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS.

THE NUMBER OF ACRES IN THE CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM WAS INCREASED TO TWENTY-SEVEN MILLION IN THE  2018 FARM BILL.
