THE PERHAM POLICE DEPARTMENT HAD SOME EXPLAINING TO DO AFTER AN OFFICER DROPPED AN INTOXICATED MAN OFF AT THE WRONG RESIDENCE. THE OFFICER HAD BEEN CALLED TO GIVE THE MAN A RIDE HOME FROM A LOCAL ESTABLISHMENT, HIS ADDRESS ON HIS LICENSE WAS NOT CURRENT, AND THE MAN GAVE HIM DIRECTIONS TO WHAT HE SAID WAS HIS MOTHER’S HOUSE, BUT TURNED OUT TO BE THAT OF TOTAL STRANGERS. THE FAMILY WAS AWAKEN BY THE NOISE, CAME DOWNSTAIRS TO DISCOVER THE MAN ON THEIR COUCH. THE OFFICER STILL ON SCENE, WAS THEN ABLE TO ESCORT THE MAN BACK OUT OF THE HOUSE WITHOUT INCIDENT. DEPARTMENT AUTHORITIES SAID THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL TRAINING AND DISCUSSION OF PROCEDURES FOR SUCH CALLS.
