THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL MEETS THIS EVENING.

AMONG OTHER THINGS,  THEY’RE EXPECTED TO SET DATES TO WORK  ON THE  2020 BUDGET.

 

THE AGRICULTURAL UTILIZATION RESEARCH INSTITUTE HAS RELEASED A REPORT ON MINNESOTA’S HEMP MARKETPLACE.

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF HEMP GROWING OPERATIONS IN THE STATE,  INCLUDING ABOUT A HALF-DOZEN IN ROSEAU COUNTY.

 

THE ROSEAU WOMEN OF TODAY WILL BE DISTRIBUTING WINTER CLOTHING AND ROSEAU RAMS GEAR TODAY  (9-6)  AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER.

THAT CLOTHING HAD BEEN COLLECTED LAST MONTH AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS IN ROSEAU.

 

THE TOWARD ZERO DEATHS CAMPAIGN HAS A NEW NORTHWESTERN MINNESOTA PROGRAM DIRECTOR;  SHE’S SUE JOHNSON,  WHO’S BASED IN THIEF RIVER FALLS.

HOLLY KOSTRZEWSKI HAD BEEN THE NORTHERN MINNESOTA  T-Z-D PROGRAM DIRECTOR;  SHE IS NOW FOCUSSED ON NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA.

 

PUBLIC OPEN SKATING AND OPEN HOCKEY STARTS OCTOBER 18TH AT MEMORIAL ARENA IN ROSEAU.

 

 

‘WIC’  CLINICS ARE TODAY IN NEWFOLDEN;  TOMORROW IN HALLOCK;  AND WEDNESDAY AT THE WARROAD AREA COMMUNITY CENTER.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,   LAST MONTH,  APPROVED PRELIMINARY UNORGANIZED TOWNSHIP BUDGETS AND LEVIES;  LEAVING THEM UNCHANGED FROM THE CURRENT YEAR,  WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR INCREASE IN NORLAND TOWNSHIP.

 

THE BIOMASS THERMAL ENERGY COUNCIL ADVOCATED AT THE STATE CAPITOL LAST SPRING FOR A TAX CREDIT FOR HOMEOWNERS WHO WOULD SWITCH TO BIOMASS HEATING APPLIANCES;

SAYING THAT WOULD OFFSET THE COST OF THAT SWITCH.

DENNIS BRAZIER,  THE  C.E.O.  AT CENTRAL BOILER OF GREENBUSH,  SAYS ADVANCED WOOD HEATING SYSTEMS ARE NOT YET MAINSTREAM.

 

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR HARVEY DALLAGER OF GREENBUSH IS SATURDAY MORNING AT ELEVEN AT BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH OF GREENBUSH.   VISITATION IS FRIDAY EVENING AFTER SIX,  WITH A SEVEN O’CLOCK PRAYER SERVICE AT THE CHURCH.

HARVEY DALLAGER WAS  75.

 

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE HONORING JOSHUA BIRCHEM IS NOVEMBER 3RD ON THE BANKS OF THE RAPID RIVER NEAR CARP.    IN LIEU OF FLOWERS,  DONATIONS CAN BE GIVEN TO DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS AT LAKE OF THE WOODS SCHOOL FOR A SCHOLARSHIP IN JOSHUA’S NAME.

JOSHUA BIRCHEM WAS  20.

 

22 YEAR OLD NATHAN SCHEENSTRA OF TERREBONNE,  OREGON SUFFERED     NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES IN A SATURDAY NIGHT ROLLOVER ON HIGHWAY 172  (NEAR COUNTY ROAD SIX)  NORTHEAST OF BAUDETTE IN LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY.

SCHEENSTRA WAS SOUTHBOUND,  LEFT THE ROAD AND ROLLED.  HE WAS TAKEN TO LAKEWOOD HOSPITAL IN BAUDETTE.

 

A WRAPUP CELEBRATION FOR THE 2019 ROSEAU COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE IS THIS EVENING  (6:30 PM)  AT THE ROSEAU EVENT CENTER  (THE FORMER EAGLES BUILDING)  IN ROSEAU’S  WEST ACRES.
