A RECENT ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL BLOOD DRIVE BROUGHT IN 49 VOLUNTEERS, WITH 38 OF THEM QUALIFYING TO DONATE. A TOTAL OF 45 UNITS OF BLOOD WAS COLLECTED. THE DRIVE WAS COORDINATED BY MARTINA JOHNSON AND SPONSORED BY THE ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY.

THE EAST GRAND FORKS CIVIC CENTER WAS TO RECEIVE AN OVERHAUL OF THEIR ICE EQUIPMENT THIS FALL, HOWEVER, GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN PROBLEMS ARE CAUSING A DELAY IN THE DELIVERY OF MANY OF THE COMPONENTS. THE UPGRADE WILL ONLY PARTIALLY HAPPEN THIS FALL, AND WILL WAIT UNTIL AFTER HOCKEY SEASON TO COMPLETE THEM.

THE GRAND FORKS POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATED A POSSIBLE FUTURE THREAT OF VIOLENCE AT CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL. SOMETHING HAD CIRCULATED VIA SNAPCHAT, BUT THEY HAVE DETERMINED THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT ORIGINATED IN A DIFFERENT STATE AND REFERRED TO A DIFFERENT CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL.

FOR A SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR, A NATIONAL SHORTAGE ON AMMUNITION COULD CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR HUNTERS WHO HAVE NOT PLANNED AHEAD. THE DULUTH NEWS TRIBUNE CONDUCTED AN UNSCIENTIFIC SURVEY AND FOUND THAT MANY LOCAL RETAILERS AND ONLINE RETAILERS WERE IN SHORT SUPPLY OF MOST POPULAR AMMUNITIONS FOR BOTH BIRD AND BIG GAME.

OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR HEALTH INSURANCE OPENED ON OCTOBER 15TH AND RUNS THROUGH DECEMBER 7TH. A REMINDER COMES THAT SOME INSURANCES CHANGE COVERAGES FROM YEAR TO YEAR, ESPECIALLY FOR SENIORS. A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR PHYLLIS I. HAGGEN OF WARROAD WILL BE HELD TUESDAY (11 AM) AT ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH IN WARROAD. VISITATION WILL BE HELD MONDAY AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN WARROAD (5-7) WITH A 7 PM PRARYER SERVICE. VISITATION WILL ALSO BE ONE HOUR PRIO TO THE SERVICE, INTERMENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT RIVERSIDE CEMETERY IN WARRAOD. PHYLLIS HAGGEN WAS 88.
