THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD MEETS IN REGULAR MONTHLY SESSION THIS EVENING.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL HOLDS IT’S FIRST MEETING OF THE NEW YEAR, AND DAN FABIAN WILL BE SWORN IN AS THE CITY’S FIRST NEW MAYOR IN 22 YEARS.
FABIAN SERVED TEN YEARS IN THE MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE, AND SAYS A CITY COUNCIL OPERATES DIFFERENTLY THAN THE STATE HOUSE.
COUNCIL MEMBERS JANE EVANS AND PAT NOVACEK WILL ALSO BE SWORN IN THIS EVENING.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY MUSEUM HAD PLANS TO RE-OPEN TODAY, NEARLY TEN MONTHS AFTER IT CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19. THAT’S BEEN PUSHED BACK TO JANUARY 19TH,
WHEN MUSEUM VISITORS WILL GET THEIR FIRST LOOK AT THE “WAY WE WORKED” TRAVELING SMITHSONIAN EXHIBIT.
SELWYN RAMP, AT THE SMITHSONIAN, SAYS THE EXHIBIT WAS ORIGINALLY SHOWN AT THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

 

THE MINNESOTA D.N.R. IS TAKING PUBLIC COMMENTS THROUGH WEDNESDAY ON AN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET FOR THE PROPOSED ROSEAU LAKE REHABILITATION PROJECT, AND THE SPRAGUE CREEK WETLAND RESTORATION PROJECT.

 

THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, LAST MONTH, ANNOUNCED 195 MILLION DOLLARS FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING ACROSS THE STATE. STATE HOUSING COMMISSIONER JENNIFER HO ACKNOWLEDGED VARIOUS HOUSING NEEDS THROUGHOUT MINNESOTA.
THE CITY OF ROSEAU HAS APPLIED FOR STATE FUNDING HELP FOR ANOTHER APARTMENT BUILDING TO EASE A RENTAL HOUSING SHORTAGE.

 

A MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE ON THE PLANNED 2023 RESURFACING WORK ON HIGHWAY ELEVEN BETWEEN ROSEAU AND WARROAD IS AVAILABLE FOR THE PUBLIC THROUGH TODAY, AT THE MINN-DOT WEBSITE.

 

THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SAID ROSEAU COUNTY HAD 29 NEW CORONAVIRUS CASES OVER THE PAST WEEK; THAT’S A SLIGHT JUMP OVER THE PREVIOUS WEEK, WHEN NINETEEN NEW CASES WERE RECORDED.
AND ROSEAU COUNTY HAS HAD ONE MORE COVID DEATH, MAKING SIXTEEN SINCE THE PANDEMIC BEGAN.
THE COUNTY IS AT 1641 COVID-19 CASES SINCE LAST APRIL; THAT’S MORE THAN TEN PERCENT OF THE COUNTY’S POPULATION.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, LAST WEEK, MADE THE GREENBUSH TRIBUNE THE OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF THE COUNTY. THE TRIBUNE OFFERED THE ONLY BID.
THE STATE OF MINNESOTA REQUIRES COUNTIES TO NAME AN OFFICIAL PAPER.
