THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HAS APPROVED ROSEAU’S GRANT REQUEST FOR FUNDING FOR A WALKING BRIDGE OVER THE DAM NORTH OF HIGHWAY ELEVEN. THERE HAD BEEN A WALKING BRIDGE AT THAT SITE UNTIL THE MINNESOTA D.N.R. ALTERED THE MAKEUP OF THE DAM.

A WARROAD GRANT REQUEST FOR THE ROSEAU TO WARROAD RAIL TRAIL WAS REJECTED, AS THE COMMITTEE SAID MOTORIZED TRAILS WERE NOT ELIGIBLE.

 

THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SAYS ROSEAU COUNTY ADDED 53 NEW CONFIRMED CASES OF CORONAVIRUS CASES LAST WEEK, FOR A TOTAL OF 1775 CASES SINCE THE PANDEMIC BEGAN.
THAT MAKES 106 NEW CASES SINCE THE FIRST OF FEBRUARY, OR NEARLY DOUBLE THE NUMBER OF NEW CASES IN JANUARY (WHEN ROSEAU COUNTY ADDED 57).

 

VOTING IS UNDERWAY FOR THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION’S NAME A SNOWPLOW CONTEST, AT THE MINN-DOT WEBSITE. THERE ARE FIFTY FINALISTS FROM AMONG NEARLY 24 THOUSAND SUBMISSIONS.
