AT A MEETING LAST MONTH, THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD APPROVED THE ROSEAU COUNTY TRAILBLAZERS GRANT-IN-AID REQUEST TO THE STATE FOR 578 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR NEXT YEAR. THAT MONEY WILL BE USED TO IMPROVE THE TWENTY-MILE RAILBED BETWEEN WARROAD AND ROSEAU.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD ALSO APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER JACK SWANSON TO THE GOVERNOR’S COUNCIL ON JUSTICE REINVESTMENT. THAT COUNCIL WILL BE LOOKING AT THE FUNDING FOR EACH OF MINNESOTA’S THREE PROBATION DELIVERY SYSTEMS.

AREAS ACROSS NORTHERN MINNESOTA SAW CLOSE TO AN FOOT OF SNOW, WITH 11 INCHES BEING RECORDED IN ERSKINE. THE STATE PATROL REPORTED HUNDRED OF CRASHES, WITH 26 INJURIES BUT NO FATALITIES. I-29 WAS CLOSED THIS MORNING FROM SOUTH DAKOTA TO THE CANADIAN BORDER.

THERE WILL BE LIVE MUSIC AT ROSEAU’S RIVERVIEW PARK GAZEBO ON DECEMBER 19, BEGINNING AT 4 PM. THAT WILL FEATURE LOCAL MUSICIANS AND COMMUNITY CAROLING.

THE ROSEAU EAGLES WILL SERVE A FREE COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER FROM 11:00-1:00 ON CHRISTMAS DAY AT THE FOUR SEASONS SENIOR CENTER. THE MEAL WILL DRIVE THRU PICKUP OR ARRANGE FOR DELIVERY. SNOWMOBILE ENTHUSIASTS HAVE TWO EVENTS TO LOOK FORWARD TO ON DECEMBER 11. THE POLARIS EXPERIENCE CENTER WILL BE CELEBRATING A 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH REFRESHMENTS AND DOOR PRIZES AND THE DAVID JOHNSON VINTAGE SNOCAT SPECTACULAR WILL BE HELD THAT DAY AT THE ROSEAU EVENT CENTER.
