FUNERAL SERVICES FOR ERWIN NELSON OF ROSEAU ARE THIS MORNING AT ELEVEN  AT BETHEL/STAFFORD LUTHERAN CHURCH,  SOUTH OF ROSEAU.  ERWIN NELSON WAS  91.

PARENTS OF ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS AND SENIORS ARE REMINDED TO GET THEIR RAFFLE TICKETS AND MONEY TO THE HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE BY TOMORROW;   AND JUNIOR CLASS PARENTS ARE STILL NEEDED TO HELP DECORATE FRIDAY NIGHT  or  WORK DURING POST-PROM.

STROMMEN SAYS SHE HOPES TO BUILD ON THE WORK OF HER PREDECESSOR,  TOM LANDWEHR ….

ABOUT THIRTY PEOPLE ATTENDED A TOWN HALL MEETING LAST WEEK AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER,  HOSTED BY STATE REPRESENTATIVE DAN FABIAN  (R/ROSEAU)  AND STATE SENATOR MARK JOHNSON  (R/ EAST GRAND FORKS).   JOHNSON SAID A DIVIDED LEGISLATURE IS MAKING WORK IN ST PAUL MORE DIFFICULT ….JOHNSON’S FIRST TWO YEARS IN OFFICE HAD REPUBLICANS IN CONTROL OF BOTH THE HOUSE AND SENATE.

MOE LUTHERAN CHURCH YOUTH PLAN TO CLEAN TWO MILES OF DITCHES ALONG HIGHWAY ELEVEN THIS EVENING.THEY’RE AMONG  3500 VOLUNTEER GROUPS IN THE STATE  WHO CLEANED NEARLY NINE THOUSAND MILES OF ROADWAY DITCHES LAST YEAR IN MINNESOTA.

THE CITY OF ROSEAU AND THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH HAVE A FRIDAY MEETING TO TALK ABOUT THE CITY’S WALKING AND BIKING TRAILS. KATY SPODEN IS ROSEAU’S PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR.THE CITY OF ROSEAU HAS ABOUT TWELVE MILES OF RECREATIONAL TRAILS.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FRANCES AKER OF WARROAD ARE TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT ONE AT THE WARROAD SENIOR LIVING CENTER CHAPEL IN WARROAD.   VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR. FRAN AKER WAS  85.

A GRAND FORKS HERALD REPORT SAYS THE WARROAD PIONEER NEWSPAPER WILL CEASE PUBLICATION IN EARLY MAY. THAT NEWSPAPER HAS EXISTED IN WARROAD SINCE AROUND 1900.OWNER REBECCA COLDEN IS HOPING THE PAPER MIGHT BE SOLD IN THE COMING WEEKS. MEANWHILE, THE WARROAD CITY COUNCIL VOTED TO MAKE THE ROSEAU TIMES/REGION THEIR OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER;   HAVING AN OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER IS REQUIRED BY STATE STATUTE.
