ROSEAU SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT LARRY GUGGISBERG TOLD THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL YESTERDAY THAT A WISCONSIN COMPANY CONTRACTED TO CONDUCT A COMMUNITY SURVEY HAS RECEIVED 690 RETURNED SURVEYS. THAT’S TWENTY PERCENT OF THE MORE THAN THREE THOUSAND SURVEYS MAILED TO SCHOOL DISTRICT RESIDENTS, ASKING FOR INPUT ON A PROPOSED RENOVATION OR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. GUGGISBERG SAID THE RESULTS WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE SCHOOL BOARD JUNE 17TH.

 

THE WEBSITE WalletHub SAYS MINNESOTA IS THE 6TH BEST STATE IN THE NATION FOR JOBS. THE STUDY LOOKED AT THINGS LIKE ECONOMIC VITALITY AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES.
THE TOP FIVE ARE MASSACHUSETTS, WASHINGTON, COLORADO, VERMONT AND NEW HAMPSHIRE.
THE BOTTOM FOUR ARE WEST VIRGINIA, MISSISSIPPI, KENTUCKY AND LOUISIANA.

 

DETOURS, LANE CLOSURES AND DELAYS ARE AHEAD FOR MOTORISTS IN THE PARK RAPIDS AREA, STARTING MONDAY; WHERE A ROUNDABOUT WILL BE CONSTRUCTED ON HIGHWAY 71. GLADEN CONSTRUCTION OF LaPORTE WAS AWARDED THE FOUR POINT TWO MILLION DOLLAR BID.

 

MINNESOTA EXPORTS WERE UP 1 ½ PERCENT IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THIS YEAR, COMPARED WITH THE SAME PERIOD A YEAR AGO. EXPORTS TO EUROPE WERE UP 14%, BUT WERE DOWN 8% TO ASIA.

VISITATION IS THIS EVENING (5-7 PM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, THIS WEEK, APPROVED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR INSIGHT MAPPING TECHNOLOGY FOR THE ROSEAU, WARROAD, GREENBUSH AND BADGER FIRE DEPARTMENTS; FOR LIFECARE AMBULANCES IN ROSEAU AND GREENBUSH, AND THE WARROAD AMBULANCE SERVICE; AND FOR THE WARROAD AND ROSEAU POLICE DEPARTMENTS; WHICH WILL REIMBURSE THOSE AGENCIES FOR TABLETS CONNECTED TO THE ROSEAU COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DISPATCH CENTER.
THAT TECHNOLOGY IS INTENDED TO ASSIST THOSE DEPARTMENTS IN FINDING ADDRESSES FOR EMERGENCY CALLS IN THE COUNTY.
