THIS ENDS THE STATEWIDE MASK MANDATE, AS THE CDC SAYS THAT FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE NO LONGER NEED TO WEAR MASKS, EITHER INDOORS OR OUTDOORS. SOME INSTANCES WHERE THEY STILL SUGGEST MASKS, VACCINATED OR NOT, ARE MEDICAL SETTINGS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. THE SAFE LEARNING PLAN REMAINS IN PLACE THROUGH THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, MEANING MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED THERE.

MOTORISTS ON HIGHWAY 59 BETWEEN WINGER AND ERSKINE CAN EXPECT A SHORT-TERM DETOUR AS CONSTRUCTION BEGINS MAY 17.  THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE RESURFACING HIGHWAY 59 FROM WINGER TO ERSKINE AS WELL AS PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS IN WINGER. EXPECT THAT DETOUR IN PLACE THROUGH EARLY JUNE.
