A Memorial Service for Donald W. Castle of Baudette, MN will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1:00PM at Cornerstone Assembly Church in Baudette, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 5-7 PM at the church, and also ne hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Donald William Castle Sr., 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021 with the love of his life, his wife Barb, by his side.

Don was a cowboy in the truest sense of the word. For most of his life he was a dairy farmer, a horse trainer and jockey. He loved breaking and riding his many horses. As much as he loved his horses, his family was truly his life. He was a man of incredible character with an infectious smile who made friends with everyone he met; to know him was to love him.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara, his eleven children, Cindy (Cliff) Grawberger of Sprague, MB, Lynette (John) Holmes of Centralia, WA,  Richard Starren of Williams, MN, Ronald (Alissa) Castle of Decatur, IL, Heidi (Darrin) Grimm of Warroad, MN, Raquel (Tom) Zeidlik of Grand Forks, ND, Elicia (Matt) Walsh of Fairmont, MN, Dana Castle of Thief River Falls, MN, Donald Castle Jr. (Bobby) of Williams, MN, Dustin (Tosha) Castle of Whitetop, VA, Krystal (Chris) Johnson of Baudette, MN, his 23 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Elhue (Evie) Castle of Roseau, MN. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Yula Castle, his brother Edgar (Peggy) Castle Jr., his sisters Gladys (Blake) Napper, and Esther (Gene) Perrine, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical and nursing staff of LakeWood Health Center in Baudette, MN for the excellent care they provided to Don.
