THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  YESTERDAY,  HEARD FROM TIM ANACABE AND MADELINE WAAGE WITH NORTHWEST COMMUNITY ACTION;  WHICH IS SEEKING A TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLAR APPROPRIATION FOR 2020 AND 2021 TO HELP FUND THEIR YOUTH INTERVENTION PROGRAM  (ALSO KNOWN AS LITTLE BROTHERS/LITTLE SISTERS.

 

THE NORTHWEST MINNESOTA FOUNDATION WILL HOST OPEN HOUSES AT FIVE LOCATIONS IN THE FOUNDATION’S SERVICE AREA THIS FALL,  INCLUDING  OCTOBER 28TH AT THE BAUDETTE AMERICINN.

FOUNDATION STAFF  AND  C.E.O.  KAREN WHITE WILL ALSO BE IN PARK RAPIDS,  WARREN,  ADA AND EAST GRAND FORKS THIS MONTH AND NEXT.

 

A GATHERING OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY SERVICE FOR VIRGINIA GERINGER OF SALOL IS TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT FOUR  AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.   VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR.   IN LIEU OF FLOWERS,  MEMORIALS ARE PREFERRED.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR FLOYD OTTO OF NEWFOLDEN  (AND FORMERLY OF WARROAD)  IS NEXT WEDNESDAY  (October 16) MORNING AT ELEVEN AT NAZARETH LUTHERAN CHURCH IN HOLT.  BURIAL IS AT A LATER DATE AT BEAVER CEMETERY IN ROSEAU COUNTY.

FLOYD OTTO WAS  82.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL,  THIS WEEK,  APPROVED HOOKUP FEE DEFERRALS FOR SEVEN LOTS OWNED BY BILL O’CONNELL IN THE OAK CREST WEST SUBDIVISION.     THE COUNCIL HAS APPROVED THOSE DEFERRALS IN PREVIOUS YEARS.

O’CONNELL TOLD THE COUNCIL HE PLANS TO CONTINUE BUILDING SEVERAL HOUES PER YEAR.

 

ROSEAU’S NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY BLOOD DRIVE IS OCTOBER 23RD.

 

ROSEAU ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE APPRECIATION DAY IS OCTOBER 22ND.

 

MINNESOTA  D.N.R. FORESTRY SAYS THE THOMPSON AND RIVER ROADS WILL BE CLOSED TEMPORARILY TODAY FOR CULVERT REPLACEMENT.

 

THE  33RD ANNUAL BANQUET OF THE ROSEAU RIVER CHAPTER OF THE MINNESOTA DEER HUNTERS ASSOCIATION IS MONDAY EVENING AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER.

 

‘WIC’ CLINICS ARE TODAY AT THE WARROAD AREA COMMUNITY CENTER,  AND TOMORROW AT THE RED LAKE FALLS COMMUNITY CENTER.

 

A FALL MEATBALL SUPPER IS SUNDAY EVENING  (4-7 PM)  AT FIRST UNITED LUTHERAN CHURCH IN ROSEAU.

 

A HALLOWEEN TREAT WALK IS OCTOBER 31ST  (5-7 PM)  AT OAK CREST SENIOR HOUSING IN ROSEAU.
