Today’s Covid-19 Update for Tuesday, October 13 2020

10/13/2020

Roseau County has 164 Positive Cases; with 6 new cases reported today; 18 ACTIVE Cases; 146 having recovered (out of isolation).

The World Health Organization says that a 14-day positive test rate of below 5 percent is the key to keeping businesses open.

Tuesday’s update includes 1,150 new cases, 15 of which have been removed for an official count is 1,135 cases. Those positives are the result of 11,109 people tested, creating a 24-hour reporting period test positivity rate of 10.21%.

The positive test rate is lower from the perspective when the number of individuals producing positive tests (1,135) divided by total completed tests (19,444). In that case, the positivity rate is 5.84%.

The “tests completed” number is always higher than the “people tested” metric because some people get tested multiple times and those who test positive are only counted once, so it produces a less accurate positivity rate.

The number of COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in Minnesota is at 483, including 136 people in an ICU. There were 144 patients in an ICU in Monday’s report.

Statewide:

  • Total tests: 2,355,124 (up from 2,337,122)
  • People tested: 1,600,861 (up from 1,589,752)
  • Positive cases: 114,574 (up from 113,439)
  • Deaths: 2,151 (up from 2,144)
  • Hospitalized (cumulative since start of pandemic): 8,500 (up from 8,421)
  • ICU admissions (cumulative): 2,328 (up from 2,311)
  • Patients no longer requiring isolation: 102,624 (up from 101,376)
