NHL:
ON PAPER THE CONFERENCE FINALS SHOULD FEATURE GREAT GOALTENDING IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE, AND THE POTENTIAL FOR A SHOOTOUT IN THE WEST.
GAME 1 OF THE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL PROVED THAT TO BE TRUE, WITH 84 TOTAL SHOTS ON GOAL AND 14 GOALS AS COLORADO HELD OFF EDMONTON 8-6 TO CLAIM AN EARLY 1-0 LEAD IN THAT SERIES.

MLB:
MINNESOTA HAD A SECOND CONSECUTIVE DOUBLE HEADER WITH DETROIT, AND SPLIT THE GAMES… WINNING 8-2 IN THE AFTERNOON AND FALLING 4-0 IN THE EVENING. KODY CLEMENS, THE SON OF ROGER CLEMENS, MADE HIS MAJOR LEAGUE DEBUT FOR THE TIGERS.
