THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD,  THIS WEEK,  HEARD FROM STEVE TRUDEAU WITH KRAUS/ANDERSON  (THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGERS FOR THE SCHOOL’S  RENOVATION AND BUILDING PROJECT). TRUDEAU SAID THEY’VE  RE-BID PORTIONS OF PHASE ONE CONSTRUCTION,  AND THAT THE PHASE ONE BUDGET OF JUST OVER FIVE MILLION DOLLARS IS SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN EXPECTED.

THE  27 MILE WILDLIFE DRIVE AT THE ROSEAU RIVER WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC THIS SUMMER;  IT WOULD NORMALLY HAVE BEEN OPEN IN CONJUNCTION WITH COUNTY FAIR WEEK. RANDY PRACHAR IS THE MANAGER FOR THE D.N.R.’S  ROSEAU RIVER W.M.A.

ON A ROSEAU COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT VIRTUAL MEETING THIS WEEK,   RED LAKE GAMING SAID IT’S PLANNING MASS TESTING FOR IT’S CASINO EMPLOYEES  (INCLUDING IN WARROAD)  AFTER TESTING AT FOUR COMMUNITIES WITHIN THE RED LAKE NATION.

AIMEE BERGER,  WITH THE INTER-COUNTY COMMUNITY COUNCIL IN ROSEAU,  SAYS FREE  MASKS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AT LEE’S STORE IN WANNASKA.   VOLUNTEERS IN THE AREA HAVE BEEN SEWING MASKS AND DONATING SUPPLIES TO CREATE A STOCKPILE.

21 YEAR OLD NICHOLAS KEZAR OF ROSEAU WAS TAKEN TO A THIEF RIVER FALLS HOSPITAL WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AFTER A TWO-VEHICLE CRASH TUESDAY AFTERNOON ON HIGHWAY 32 NEAR HOLT. KEZAR WAS STRUCK HEAD-ON BY A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 51 YEAR OLD CHERYL ANN ENGEN OF NEWFOLDEN.A STATE PATROL REPORT SAYS ENGEN’S CAR CROSSED THE CENTER LINE.  SHE WAS TAKEN TO  A THIEF RIVER FALLS HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.

ROSEAU COUNTY HAS SEVERAL HOT DAYS AHEAD,  INCLUDING TOMORROW WHEN THE HIGH TEMPERATURE IS EXPECTED IN THE UPPER EIGHTIES,  AND THE HEAT INDEX IS EXPECTED TO BE IN THE UPPER NINETIES ….
