A MINNEAPOLIS STAR-TRIBUNE STORY SAYS SCOTT WINE OF POLARIS INDUSTRIES IS THE  26TH  HIGHEST PAID  C.E.O.  IN MINNESOTA.   WINE EARNS FOUR-POINT-ONE MILLION DOLLARS IN TOTAL COMPENSATION.   HE WAS  7TH ON LAST YEAR’S LIST,  BUT HIS ANNUAL EARNINGS DROPPED BY EIGHTY PERCENT. THE HIGHEST PAID  C.E.O.,  ACCORDING TO THE NEWSPAPER STORY, IS DAVID WICHMANN OF THE UNITED HEALTH GROUP,  WHOSE ANNUAL EARNINGS TOP FIFTY-TWO MILLION DOLLARS

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL MEETS THIS EVENING. THE AGENDA INCLUDES A DISCUSSION OF FOOD TRUCKS WITH THE ROSEAU CIVIC AND COMMERCE ASSOCIATION.

A CULVERT REPLACEMENT AND RE-SURFACING PROJECT STARTS TODAY ON HIGHWAY  172 NEAR BAUDETTE, WHICH WILL MEAN DETOURS FOR DRIVERS. THE FOUR-POINT-SIX MILLION DOLLAR  PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO BE FINISHED BY MID-OCTOBER.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  MET WITH CHARITY BRAULT AND HEATHER HARBOTT  FROM THE NORTHWEST MINNESOTA MULTI-COUNTY HOUSING AND REHABILITATION AUTHORITY.

ONE OF THE HRA’S PROGRAMS,  A DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM,  HAS HELPED FUND THE PURCHASE OF  468 HOMES IN ROSEAU COUNTY SINCE IT’S INCEPTION.    THE FORTY-THREE MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF HOUSING IN ROSEAU COUNTY IS AS MUCH AS ALL THE OTHER NORTHWESTERN COUNTIES COMBINED.

CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL FOR PHASE ONE OF A TWO PHASE RENOVATION PROJECT. SCHOOL BOARD CHAIR PETE KVIEN SAYS ALTHOUGH SCHOOL WILL START        IN-PERSON IN SEPTEMBER,  THERE SHOULD BE MINIMAL IMPACT ON STUDENTS. THE ROSEAU SCHOOL DISTRICT IS STILL TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR A  K-12 ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL.

THE ROSEAU ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MET LAST WEEK,  AND WERE JOINED BY MARTY SEIFERT,  WITH THE COALITION OF GREATER MINNESOTA CITIES. MARTY SEIFERT IS A FORMER STATE REPRESENTATIVE. WARROAD IS ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE COALITION OF GREATER MINNESOTA CITIES,  BUT MOST OF THE MEMBERSHIP IS IN THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE STATE.

THE ROSEAU AREA FOOD SHELF AND WARROAD FOOD PANTRY PARTNERED WITH THE NORTH COUNTRY FOOD BANK LAST WEEK FOR A FROZEN FOOD DISTRIBUTION. IN ROSEAU,  SIX THOUSAND POUNDS OF FOOD WAS GIVEN AWAY IN LESS THAN AN HOUR.THERESE McDONNELL,  WITH THE ROSEAU AREA FOOD SHELF,  SAYS THEY WERE SURPRISINGLY QUIET EARLY IN THE PANDEMIC;  BUT DEMAND HAS INCREASED ….
