Manley Harris Olmstead of Roseau, MN passed away Saturday April 2, 2022 at Touchmark at Harwood Groves in Fargo, ND. Manley was born December 10, 1926 at their farm home in Malung Township to Arthur Harrison Olmstead and Mary (Brekke) Olmstead. He attended a rural school and served 2 years in the army. During that time he was based at Ft. Eusteus, Virginia near Williamsburg. Manley was united in marriage to Velma C. Olmstead on May 15, 1953. They had 3 children Kevin, Valerie & Dianne. Manley worked for the City of Roseau for 30 years. He had a side business of selling & setting gravestones for Kollman Monument for many years. Manley & Velma enjoyed RVing in Arizona & Texas during the winter, traveling on bus tours with the Northern Neighbors Club, attending polka fests, volunteering at church and making lefse were their favorite pastimes. Traveling to Norway to visit relatives was a memorable experience for them. Manley also volunteered at the Roseau Senior Center and the Pioneer Village.

Manley is survived by his children, Kevin (Devra) Olmstead of Grafton, ND, Valerie (Marty) Hesse of Fargo, ND and Dianne (Dan) Hedlund of Hartford, SD seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Velma, parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 13,2022 at 10:00am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
