ROSEAU COUNTY 4H’ERS ARE SHOWING THEIR PROJECTS; 4H PROGRAM COORDINATOR SANDI WEILAND SAYS THE COUNTY HAS BETWEEN 350 AND 400 FOUR-H KIDS.

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR JENNIFER SHEPARD OF WARROAD IS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT TWO AT BETHESDA LUTHERAN CHURCH. VISITATION IS FRIDAY EVENING (5-7 PM) WITH A SEVEN O’CLOCK SERVICE AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.
JENNIFER SHEPARD WAS 56.

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR RUBY TORGERSON OF ROSEAU IS FRIDAY MORNING AT ELEVEN AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR.
RUBY TORGERSON WAS 82.

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR KYLE DeMOLEE OF WARROAD IS SATURDAY MORNING AT TEN AT THE WARROAD BAPTIST CHURCH. VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR.
KYLE DeMOLEE WAS 27.

 

SERVICES ARE PENDING FOR CURTIS WISKOW OF RURAL STRATHCONA. HE DIED YESTERDAY AT LIFECARE GREENBUSH MANOR AT AGE 89.

 

42 YEAR OLD CYNTHIA McDOUGALL OF BAUDETTE DIED MONDAY IN A TWO VEHICLE CRASH ON HIGHWAY 172 IN LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY. McDOUGALL’S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK HEAD-ON BY A PICKUP DRIVEN BY 23 YEAR OLD KYLE NEUMILLER OF ISLE, MINNESOTA. NEUMILLER WAS TAKEN TO LAKEWOOD HEALTH CENTER IN BAUDETTE. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE SIX P.M. MONDAY.

 

45 YEAR OLD DAVID GOERTZEN WAS TAKEN TO A THIEF RIVER FALLS HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AFTER THE MOTORCYCLE HE WAS DRIVING WAS BACKED INTO BY A PICKUP DRIVEN BY 41 YEAR OLD DEBBI BENKE OF GREENBUSH. THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT ABOUT 2:30 AT THE K & K GAS STATION IN KARLSTAD. BENKE WAS NOT HURT.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD HAS A WORK SESSION NEXT TUESDAY EVENING (July 30/ 6:30 pm) TO REVIEW PROGRESS AND DETERMINE DECISION POINTS AHEAD OF A POTENTIAL BOND REFERENDUM ON A PROPOSED SCHOOL FACILITIES PROJECT.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, YESTERDAY, HEARD FROM MEMBERS OF THE KVEEN FAMILY AND MITCH MAGNUSSON ON THE ROSEAU RIVER WATERSHED’S PROPOSED LAKEBOTTOM PROJECT.
THOSE LANDOWNERS AND FARMERS ARE OPPOSED TO A SHARED DNR/ WATERSHED PROJECT WHICH WOULD REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT PRIVATELY OWNED LAND.
