THE WARROAD AREA COMMUNITY FUND IS INVITING LOCAL AREA NON-PROFITS OR PUBLIC ENTITIES TO SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR FUNDING PROPOSAL FOR HELP WITH PROGRAMS OR EVENTS THAT WILL ENHANCE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE WARROAD AREA. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS MAY 28. ONLINE APPLICATIONS CAN BE FOUND AT NWMF.ORG.

THERE ARE ALSO GRANT OPPORTUNTIES TO HELP WITH EQUIPMENT OR PROGRAM IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN THE WARROAD SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE DEADLINE IS AGAIN MAY 28TH, WITH APPLICATIONS FOUND AT THE SAME WEBSITE.

THE NORTHLAND RANGE AND GUN CLUB IS HOLDING A BBQ, FUN SHOOT, AND ANNUAL MEETING THIS EVENING. THE MEAL AND FUN SHOOT BEGIN AT 4:30 WITH THE ANNUAL MEETING AT 7:00.

 

NORTH DAKOTA WILL STOP OFFERING FEDERAL PANDEMIC UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS TO RESIDENTS ON JUNE 19, CITING A STATEWIDE WORKFORCE SHORTAGE. THE MOVE MEANS RESIDENTS WHO HAVE CLAIMED UNEMPLOYMENT FOR LONGER THAN 20 WEEKS WILL BE KICKED OFF BENEFITS, AND THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO SUCCESSFULLY CLAIM UNEMPLOYMENT WILL NO LONGER RECEIVE A WEEKLY ADD-ON BENEFIT OF $300 TO $400. ALSO ENDING IS A SPECIAL PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS TO GIG WORKERS, SELF-EMPLOYED PEOPLE AND PART-TIME WORKERS WHO WOULD NOT NORMALLY QUALIFY.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR NANCY PELLETT OF ROOSEVELT WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (10 AM) AT ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH IN WARROAD. VISITATION WILL BE ONE HOUR PRIOR WITH INTERMENT AT RIVERSIDE CEMETERY. NANCY PELLETT WAS 73.

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR MARIE CLOW OF GREENBUSH WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (11 AM) AT UNITED FREE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN GREENBUSH. VISITATION WILL BE HELD ONE HOUR PRIOR TO SERVICES AT THE CHURCH. INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT BETHEL LUTHERAN CEMETERY FOLLOWING THE SERVICES. MARIE CLOW WAS 86.

 

LAST WEEK, GOV. TIM WALZ SAID THE STATEWIDE MASK MANDATE WOULD BE RESCINDED BY THURSDAY, JULY 1, OR WHEN 70% OF ELIGIBLE RESIDENTS HAVE AT LEAST ONE DOSE OF VACCINE. A LITTLE MORE THAN 60% OF ELIGIBLE RESIDENTS HAVE HAD AT LEAST ONE SHOT SO FAR, AS OF MONDAY, MAY 10.
