A 9-YEAR-OLD BOY IS DEAD AFTER HE APPARENTLY DROWNED AT A NORTH MANKATO POOL. POLICE SAY LIFEGUARDS AT THE SPRING LAKE PARK SWIM FACILITY FOUND ABDIRAHMAN ABDULLAHI UNRESPONSIVE IN ABOUT FOUR-AND-A-HALF FEET OF WATER ON SATURDAY EVENING. LIFEGUARDS TRIED TO RESUSCITATE HIM BEFORE HE WAS TAKEN TO MAYO CLINIC HEALTH SYSTEM IN MANKATO, WHERE HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD. CITY ADMINISTRATOR JOHN HARRENSTEIN SAID IN A STATMENT ABOUT 600 PEOPLE WERE IN THE POOL AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND THE POOL WAS FULLY STAFFED WITH 18 LIFEGUARDS AND SIX MORE WORKERS.

 

THE MAN ACCUSED OF ATTACKING A 14-YEAR-OLD MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL IN FARGO AND LEAVING HER WITH LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES FRIDAY MORNING, JUNE 4, IS BEING HELD ON $1 MILLION CASH BAIL. ARTHUR PRINCE KOLLIE 23, WITH NO PERMANENT ADDRESS, HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER, ROBBERY AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT IN CONNECTION TO AN ATTACK ON JUPITER PAULSEN, A TEENAGER FOUND FRIDAY WITH ABOUT 25 CUTS AND STAB WOUNDS OUTSIDE A SOUTH FARGO STRIP MALL. IN A POSTING YESTERDAY, THE GIRL’S FATHER SAID DOCTORS TOLD HIM SHE IS UNLIKELY TO SURVIVE.

 

HUNDREDS OF PROTESTERS VOWING TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO STOP ENBRIDGE ENERGY’S PUSH TO REPLACE AN AGING PIPELINE BLOCKED A PUMP STATION MONDAY IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA. THIS SUMMER, LAKE OF THE WOODS SCHOOL IS PARTICIPATING IN THE SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM, PROVIDING MEALS TO ALL CHILDREN AT NO COST. THEY WILL OFFER BOTH BREAKFAST AND LUNCH AT THE SCHOOL, THIS WEEK AND NEXT. BREAKFAST IS FROM 8:30-9:30 AND LUNCH FROM 11:00-12:30.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR WILL OPEN ON JULY 18TH WITH CHURCH NIGHT IN THE GRANDSTAND. TWO OUTSTANDING SENIOR CITIZEN VOLUNTEER AWARD WINNERS FOR ROSEAU COUNTY WILL BE RECOGNIZED DURING THAT EVENT. THE COWBOY MOUNTED SHOOTING ASSOCIATION IS BRINGING A TWO DAY EVENT TO THE HORSE ARENA AT THE ROSEAU COUNTY FAIRGROUND ON JUNE 19TH AND 20TH. THE EVENT IS FREE TO ALL SPECTATORS.

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR NORMAN MILLER OF GREENBUSH WILL BE HELD AT
10:30AM, MONDAY, JUNE 14, 2021 AT BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH OF GREENBUSH.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILL GATHER FROM 4 – 7PM, SUNDAY AT COLLINS
FUNERAL CHAPEL IN GREENBUSH.
INTERMENT SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT BETHEL LUTHERAN CEMETERY OF GREENBUSH
FOLLOWING SERVICES.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILL GATHER FOR FELLOWSHIP AT THE GREENBUSH AMERICAN
LEGION FOLLOWING SERVICES. NORMAN MILLER WAS 77.

 

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MARK ROBINSON OF ROSEAU WILL BE HELD THIS FRIDAY (10:30 AM) AT SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE THURSDAY EVENING (5:00-7:00) WITH A 7:00 PRAYER SERVICE AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. MARK ROBINSON WAS 67.
