LIFECARE PUBLIC HEALTH IS REPORTING THREE MORE CASES OF COVID-19 IN ROSEAU COUNTY, BRINGING THE NUMBER OF CASES TO NINE. THESE CASES WERE IDENTIFIED USING A RAPID SCREENING TEST, WHICH ALLOWED PUBLIC HEALTH TO BEGIN IMMEDIATE NOTIFICATION OF KNOWN CONTACTS TO ASK THAT THEY ISOLATE AND QUARANTINE TO PREVENT FURTHER SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS IN THE COUNTY.

PUBLIC HEALTH DIRECTOR JULIE PAHLEN SAID “RESIDENTS OF ROSEAU COUNTY SHOULD COMPLY WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKING RECOMMENDATIONS”.

THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH MAP OF CONFIRMED COVID CASES IN COUNTIES STILL SHOWS ROSEAU AT SIX, WITH TEST RESULTS FROM MAYO CLINIC EXPECTED ON THE THREE NEW CASES BY TOMORROW.
RECENT SURGES IN COVID CASES ACROSS MINNESOTA HAVE BEEN WITHIN THE TWENTY AND THIRTY YEAR OLD POPULATION WHO HAVEN’T COMPLIED WITH PROTOCOLS WHILE IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS.

 

ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS CONTINUE ACROSS THE WESTERN TWO-THIRDS OF NORTH DAKOTA; AND FROM SOUTH DAKOTA TO THE ARROWHEAD REGION OF MINNESOTA.

ROSEAU COUNTY HIGHWAY ENGINEER BRIAN KETRING IS LEAVING THAT POSITION AFTER EIGHTEEN YEARS,
FOR A JOB AS ASSISTANT DISTRICT TWO ENGINEER FOR THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
KETRING’S LAST DAY WITH ROSEAU COUNTY IS LATE NEXT MONTH.
ROSEAU COUNTY IS ADVERTISING FOR A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER TO SUCCEED BRIAN KETRING.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD, LAST WEEK, APPROVED A KINDERGARTEN THROUGH THIRD GRADE LITERACY PLAN;
THAT’S REQUIRED BY THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

 

A REPORT SAYS BLACK WORKERS IN MINNESOTA AND THE UNITED STATES WOULD BENEFIT MOST FROM A FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE.
WADE LUNEBERG, WITH A HOSPITALITY UNION CALLED UNITE HERE, SAYS ALL MINNESOTANS WHO WORK FULLTIME SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN POVERTY.
THE FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE HAS NOT INCREASE SINCE 2009.
