THE ASSOCIATION OF MINNESOTA COUNTIES HAS BEEN ADVOCATING AT THE STATE LEGISLATURE FOR LOCAL DISTRIBUTION OF FEDERAL ‘CARES’ ACT FUNDING, BASED ON POPULATION.
667 MILLION DOLLARS OF THE NEARLY ONE-POINT-NINE BILLION MINNESOTA RECEIVED CAN BE DISTRIBUTED TO COUNTIES, CITIES AND TOWNSHIPS.
UNDER THE A.M.C. PER CAPITA FORMULA, ROSEAU COUNTY COULD GET ONE-POINT-NINE MILLION.
THE CITY OF ROSEAU WOULD GET 241 THOUSAND; WARROAD 159 THOUSAND, GREENBUSH 62 THOUSAND; AND BADGER 31 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

ROSEAU SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT TOM JEROME SAYS CONSTRUCTION WILL START IN THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS, WITH COMPLETION OF THE ENTIRE PROJECT BY THE FALL OF 2022.

FIRST HALF TAXES ON ALL REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY ARE DUE AT THE ROSEAU COUNTY TREASURER’S OFFICE BY TOMORROW;
ALTHOUGH THE COUNTY BOARD PASSED A RESOLUTION FORGIVING PENALTIES ON PAYMENTS MADE BY JULY 15TH.
THE COURTHOUSE REMAINS CLOSED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, BUT THERE IS A DROP BOX AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE;
AND ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS CAN BE MADE.
