THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD,  YESTERDAY,  APPROVED THE HIRE OF CAMERON OLSON OF ROSEAU AS BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS SUPERVISOR. HE’LL SUCCEED JEROME ZISKA,  WHO’S RETIRING THIS SUMMER.  THE BOARD ALSO HIRED PATRICK McGUIRE AS A LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MILDRED FRISLIE OF ROSEAU  (AND FORMERLY OF BADGER)  ARE TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT FOUR AT OILAND LUTHERAN CHURCH OF RURAL GREENBUSH.  VISITATION IS THIS EVENING AFTER SIX,  WITH A SEVEN O’CLOCK PRAYER SERVICE,  AT GIESEKE FUNERAL CHAPEL OF GREENBUSH;  AND AN HOUR PRIOR TO TOMORROW’S SERVICE. MILDRED  FRISLIE WAS  83.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  APPROVED A FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLAR FUNDING REQUEST FOR THE WARROAD HARBOR PROJECT. THE MONEY WOULD BE USED TO PURSUE A REGIONAL PARK DESIGNATION.

A ‘WIC’ CLINIC IS TODAY AT THE RED LAKE FALLS COMMUNITY CENTER.

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL HELD A PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY EVENING TO CONSIDER ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE PROPERTY AT THE SITE OF THE FORMER EVERGREEN MOTEL.   ONE OF THE OWNERS SAID THEY PLAN TO CLEAN UP THE PROPERTY THIS SPRING;  THE COUNCIL SET A JUNE  30TH DEADLINE.

A MINNESOTA HISTORICAL SOCIETY TRAVELING EXHIBIT ON THE YEAR  “1968”  COMES TO THE ROSEAU COUNTY MUSEUM MONDAY.

AREA MUSICIAN DARIANN LEIGH OF KARLSTAD HAS A DEBUT SINGLE TO BE RELEASED ENTITLED “GIVE ME A MINUTE”. SHE PLAYED THE MINI-STATE AT LAST SUMMER’S ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR, AT THE THURSDAY CONCERTS AT THE GAZEBO, AND HAS ALSO PLAYED A NUMBER OF MUSIC FESTIVALS AND AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR.
