THE CITY OF ROSEAU HAS RECEIVED OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION OF IT’S FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT AWARD FOR A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AT THE OLD DAM SITE, NORTH OF HIGHWAY ELEVEN.

 

BIDS FOR ROSEAU’S ELEVEN-01 APARTMENT PROJECT ARE EXPECTED IN JUNE. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR TODD PETERSON CALLS IT A COMPLICATED PROCESS. THE APARTMENT BUILDING WOULD BE OWNED BY THE ROSEAU ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.

THE RAILROAD CROSSING ON COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 74 WILL BE CLOSED TODAY FOR REPAIRS, AND SHOULD LAST MOST OF THE DAY.

 

RED LAKE COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH IS HOLDING A COVID-19 VACCINATION CLINIC TODAY AT SEVEN CLANS CASINO IN WARROAD, FROM 9A-3P. THAT IS OPEN TO ANYONE 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER, AND IS BEING DONE ON A WALK-IN BASIS.

 

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR COREY OLSON OF BADGER WILL BE HELD THURSDAY, APRIL 8TH (1 PM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. A VISITATION WILL BE HELD ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE, AND INTERMENT WILL BE AT PINECREEK CEMETERY. BOTH WILL FOLLOW STATE COVID GUIDELINES AND MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED. COREY OLSON WAS 44.

 

A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL FOR LAUREL PASTIR WILL BE HELD MONDAY (10:30) AT SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE HELD AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU ON SUNDAY (5-7) WITH A PRAYER SERVICE TO FOLLOW. LAUREL PASTIR WAS 83.

 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR BERTHA H. ERICKSON OF BAUDETTE WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, APRIL 10TH (10 AM) AT FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH IN BAUDETTE. VISITATION WILL BE HELD ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE AT THE CHURCH. INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT HOPE CEMETERY IN ROSEAU AT A LATER DATE. BERTHA ERICKSON WAS 88.

 

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JUDITH V. FUGLEBERG OF ROSEAU WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (2 PM) AT ROSE FREE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE HELD FRIDAY (5-7) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU WITH A PRAYER SERVICE AT 7:00. VISITATION WILL ALSO BE ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE AT THE CHURCH. INTERMENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT MOE-ROSE CEMETERY IN ROSEAU.

THE MINNESOTA BOARD OF ANIMAL HEALTH ON WEDNESDAY MORNING, APRIL 7, SAID A 3-YEAR-OLD WHITETAIL DOE ON A BELTRAMI COUNTY FARM HAD TESTED POSITIVE FOR CWD, THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES WILL CONDUCT PRECAUTIONARY SURVEILLANCE THIS FALL FOR CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE IN BELTRAMI COUNTY. THE 77-HEAD HERD WAS QUARANTINED IN OCTOBER 2020 AS PART OF THE BOARD OF ANIMAL HEALTH’S INVESTIGATION OF A PREVIOUSLY REPORTED CWD DETECTION IN HOUSTON COUNTY OF SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA. THE BELTRAMI COUNTY HERD OWNER PURCHASED 11 ANIMALS FROM THE WINONA COUNTY HERD.
