OVER THE WEEKEND, THE NUMBER OF CONFIRMED CASES OF CORONAVIRUS IN ROSEAU COUNTY CLIMBED TO 25, WITH THAT NUMBER UPDATED DAILY AT 11:00 AM. GUIDANCE ON THE VIRUS REMAINS THE SAME, WITH MASKS RECOMMENDED IN AS MANY PUBLIC SETTINGS AS POSSIBLE, AND TESTING FOR ANYONE SHOWING SYMPTOMS, OR WITH A KNOWN CLOSE CONTACT.

 

WITH THE CANCELLATION OF THE ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR, ROSEAU COUNTY 4-H WILL STILL MOVE AHEAD WITH A VIRTUAL JUDGING SHOWCASE FOR ALL YOUTH. THEY WILL USE PHOTOS AND VIDEO TO DISPLAY THEIR PROJECT, AND ALSO INTERVIEW TO DEMONSTRATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE LEARNED. THIS DOES STILL INVOLVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADVANCE TO STATE SHOWCASE.

 

ROSEAU VFW POST 8663 AND THE AUXILIARY WILL HOLD THEIR REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING THIS EVENING AT 6 P.M.

 

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD FOR LINDA HENRY, FORMERLY OF WARROAD, ON JULY 25TH AT ALLISON PARK IN WARROAD. LINDA PASSED AWAY JULY 3RD IN A KAYAKING ACCIDENT HEAR HER HOME IN WASHINGTON. MASKS ARE ENCOURAGED FOR ALL ATTENDEES.

 

ONE OF NORTHERN MINNESOTA’S BIGGEST ATTRACTIONS IS SET TO RE-OPEN TO VISITORS ON WEDNESDAY. SPLIT ROCK LIGHTHOUSE, ALONG LAKE SUPERIOR’S NORTH SHORE HAS BEEN CLOSED DURING THE PANDEMIC. TICKETS FOR SPECIFIC TIMES WILL NOW BE REQUIRED TO HELP MONITOR NUMBERS FOR SAFETY DUE TO COVID-19.

 

AN ANNUAL A.L.S. WALK AND RUN IS SATURDAY IN ROSEAU, BUT WILL BE DONE VIRTUALLY (DUE TO THE PANDEMIC).
THAT EVENT RAISES MONDAY FOR RESEARCH ON LOU GEHRIG’S DISEASE.

 

COURTYARD VISITS, WITH MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING, STARTED LAST WEEK AT THE WARROAD SENIOR LIVING CENTER.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD MEETS TOMORROW MORNING IN PERSON AT THE COURTHOUSE.
DUE TO SPACE LIMITATIONS, MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET WITH THE COMMISSIONERS.
THE COUNTY BOARD HAS BEEN MEETING IN A HYBRID FORM, BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY, SINCE LATE MARCH.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, LAST WEEK, HEARD FROM PARKS AND REC DIRECTOR SARA HAMANN – WHO SAID CAMPING AT THE CITY PARK IS DOWN A BIT.
SHE SUGGESTED THAT MIGHT BE COVID-RELATED.
