MINNESOTA’S OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET SAYS THE STATE HAS GONE FROM LOOKING AT A BUDGET DEFICIT TO A 1.6 BILLION DOLLAR BUDGET SURPLUS. THEY’RE CREDITING FEDERAL STIMULUS ACTION, HIGHER THAN EXPECTED REVENUES AND BUDGET CUTS.

THERE WAS A HIGH INCREASE IN THE DEMAND FOR MEAT, BUT THAT ONLY ACCOUNTS FOR ABOUT TWO PERCENT OF MINNESOTA EXPORTS. THAT VALUE RANKED 21ST OUT OF THE 50 STATES FOR A SECOND YEAR IN A ROW.
