THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SAYS GREATER MINNESOTA HAS LESS THAN ONE UNEMPLOYED PERSON  (0.7)  FOR EVERY VACANCY.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR SEN SYSOURATH OF WARROAD ARE SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT ONE  AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.   A VISITATION/WAKE  IS THIS EVENING  (4-7 PM)  AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN WARROAD. SEN  SYSOURATH WAS  58.

A TENTH ANNUAL FATHER/ DAUGHTER PROM,  SPONSORED BY THE ROSEAU WOMEN OF TODAY,  IS SUNDAY AFTERNOON  (1-4 PM) AT THE ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL GYM. THE COST IS FIVE DOLLARS PER FAMILY.

ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORE NOLAN HANSON WAS ONE OF NINE MINNESOTA  4H  DELEGATES  TO THE NATIONAL  4H CONFERENCE,  HELD EARLIER THIS MONTH IN WASHINGTON,  DC. HANSON WAS PART OF A SAFE TRANSPORTATION ROUNDTABLE … NOLAN HANSON IS A ROSEAU COUNTY  4H  AMBASSADOR.

A POLARIS  65TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION IN ROSEAU IS TENTATIVELY SET FOR  SEPTEMBER  28TH.

THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IS IN ROSEAU TODAY FOR A WALKABLE COMMUNITY WORKSHOP. PARTICIPANTS WILL DEVELOP AN ACTION PLAN FOR ROSEAU’S WALKING AND BIKING TRAILS.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  THIS WEEK,  APPROVED A GRANT APPLICATION BY THE ROSEAU COUNTY TRAILBLAZERS FOR FISCAL YEAR  2019;  THE APPLICATION IDENTIFIES THE PELAN TRAIL SYSTEM AND SECTION ONE OF BELTRAMI ISLAND STATE FOREST.

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD,  EARLIER THIS MONTH,  TOOK NO ACTION ON A PRELIMINARY CALENDAR FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.

THAT CALENDAR WOULD MOVE FALL PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES FROM NOVEMBER TO OCTOBER;  AND THE BOARD TALKED ABOUT  REMOTE   E-LEARNING AS AN ALTERNATIVE ON SNOW DAYS.

A HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION IS TOMORROW  (Eight to Noon)  AT THE WARROAD CITY SHOP.

A SECOND ANNUAL TASTE OF WARROAD IS THIS EVENING  (5:30-8 PM)  AT THE GARDENS ARENA. PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT GO TO THE NONPROFIT WARROAD COMMUNITY PARTNERS.
