Cathy had a strong love of the outdoors, horses, and her German Shepherds, along with many other pets.  Her first pet, Zeus, mixed breed shepherd, was her best friend, guardian and loved to run alongside her as she drove her mini-bike.  She loved to garden and can the produce she grew.  Cathy also loved to collect postcards that represented the history surrounding Warroad. She also loved creating art, drawings, and paintings of nature. She loved the simple life and enjoyed her property on Blueberry Hill east of Roosevelt, MN.  Her property allowed her to live the life she wanted until moving to Fargo, ND.

She is survived by her partner, Patrick Dean Shafer of Fargo; siblings, Mike (Lori) Rybak, John (Carla) Rybak both of Warroad and Jim Rybak of Pelzer, SC; nieces and nephews, Christy Rybak, Aaron Rybak, Jonathan (April) Rybak, Samantha (Jake) Zavoral, Shelly Voll; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joan Rybak.
