A Celebration of Life, following MN State Covid Guidelines, for Brandon Sandy of Northwest Angle, Ontario will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 4 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  A visitation will be from 2-4 pm; with interment at Northwest Angle.

It is with deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Brandon Lee Sandy, 25, of NW Angle First Nation 33B, Dec. 8th, 2020, as the result of a sudden accident.  He was born Nov. 1st, 1995 in Roseau, MN, the son of Lynelle (Lane) Sandy and Bill Sandy.  He attended Warroad Schools and on 11-12-2013, he very proudly earned and accepted his GED.  It was obvious to all that his heart resided at the NW Angle on Lake of the Woods, and that was where he made his home.  He worked with his Dad at the family tourist camp and thoroughly enjoyed guiding guests.  He had also become a very excellent cook and was quite mechanically inclined.
Brandon will be remembered for his warm smile, his great sense of humor and his infectious laugh.  He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends.   He could often be found helping out a friend, family member or even a complete stranger.  His daughter Elizabeth stole the entirety of his heart and his siblings remember him as “the best brother ever”.  Brandon was very proud of his Indigenous Heritage.  His Great-Grandmother Alice had given him the name “Pidaanakweb” when he was a young boy.  Each day he strove to make the 7 Grandfather Teachings more evident in his walk of life than they had been the day before: Wisdom, Love, Bravery, Respect, Humility, Honesty, Truth.  Though he is gone too soon, all who knew him will agree that his larger than life personality will leave a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Brandon will be missed daily by his daughter Elizabeth; his parents Lynelle Sandy, Bill(Cindy) Sandy; Siblings and their families: Jennifer(Scott)Steinbring and their children Griffin & Mila, Tia (Luke Larson) Sandy and daughter Kenzie, Damian (Ashley) Sandy and daughter Lexi, Katierie Sandy, Kaiya Sandy; Grandfather Les Sandy and Grandparents Jim and Faye Drost; Numerous Very Special Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Brandon was preceded in death by Grandmothers Dorothy Lane and Dolores Sandy and Grandfather James Lane.
